Content warning: Acts of sexual assault are detailed in this piece. Former University of Nevada Las Vegas basketball player Dylan Gonzalez has accused Trey Songz of raping her. Gonzalez first accused the R&B singer of sexual assault on December 30th, but didn’t provide any other information at the time. Now, she’s come forward with a more personal allegation against the singer. “With what seems like endlessly recurring news of the alleged sexually assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-supressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas hotel,” Gonzalez tweeted on January 11th. “I want to send my love, strength, and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its fatal nature...

The sixth full-length from FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY sees the band at their most refined level of musicianship and songwriting yet, without sacrificing any of their fury. Each musician performs complex parts that showcase their awe-inspiring expertise with their instrument, while still managing to work cohesively together instead of competing with one another. Will Putney (guitar) puts his enviable producing skills on full display with his masterful handling of crescendos and decrescendos. Like their previous records, “Oh What The Future Holds” anchors itself in social commentary about the inhumanity, greed and cruelty that has widened the disparity between the haves and the have-nots. And beneath all of the anger and belligerence is a deep sense of tragedy and mournfulness about it a...
RATING: 8.5/10 It was obvious from their widely acclaimed debut album “Patient 0” that ENTERPRISE EARTH were a deathcore band with unusual focus and fierce individuality. Seven years on, and nothing much has changed in that regard. In keeping with the fervent development showcased on 2019’s “Luciferous”, the Spokane crew have made another dramatic leap forward on their fourth full-length, expanding their sound and, again, setting themselves apart from the chasing pack. In much the same way that WHITECHAPEL have steadily evolved into something far more interesting than perhaps even they expected, ENTERPRISE EARTH come pretty close to transcending deathcore altogether on “The Chosen”, instead pursuing a new and often electrifying hybrid of modern (an...
Ted Nugent has defended his recent comments about Joan Jett, saying that he was only being “honest” when he questioned her inclusion on a list of the world’s top guitar players. Late last month, Ted blasted Rolling Stone magazine for including Jett on its list of “100 Greatest Guitarists”. The 73-year-old rocker, whose recent time in the spotlight has been more for his political views than his music, railed against Jett‘s appearance on the list during his December 30 YouTube livestream. He said: “How do you list the top 100 guitar players and not list Derek St. Holmes? How do you do that? You do that by lying. The same way you get Grandmaster Flash in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. You do that by lying. You have to be a liar. You have to have shit...
Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond has paid tribute to vocalist/bassist Burke Shelley of legendary Welsh rockers BUDGIE who died on Monday, January 10 at the age of 71. Earlier today, King took to his social media to write: “Sad news that one of my true heroes, Burke Shelley, has left us. “I had the extreme pleasure to meet in person, Burke Shelley and Tony Bourge of BUDGIE, in Copenhagen Denmark, December 1975 during the ‘Bandolier’ tour. They gave me after the show a promo postcard of theirs which I asked them to sign, and which is still one of my most prized music related possessions. “BUDGIE has always played on my stereo, and that’s not going to change.” The news of Burke‘s passing was shared Monday by his daughter Ela. She wrote on ...

Pig director and writer Michael Sarnoski is going from the touching, delicate drama of his breakout film to the sci-fi horror of the A Quiet Place franchise. As first reported by Deadline, Sarnoski is in negotiations to take over the film, which is being described as more of a spinoff than a sequel. Jeff Nichols (Mud, Midnight Special) was previously attached to write and direct the currently untitled project, but left in October to focus on a different sci-fi movie. John Krasinksi wrote, directed, and starred in the first two Quiet Place installments, but neither he nor Emily Blunt is expected to reprise their acting roles. Prior to the Nicolas Cage-starring Pig, one of the best films of 2021, Sarnoski directed episodes of TV series like Olympia and Fight Night Legacy. He could ...
“Paramore,” lead singer Hayley Williams said in a new interview with Rolling Stone, “feels like home.” Many of the band’s fans would agree, and they’ll be delighted to learn that the emo icons are back in the studio and well into recording their first new album in almost five years. The Tennessee trio’s last studio set was 2017’s After Laughter, and since then Williams has dropped two solo records, 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos. Meanwhile, the group has focused on being what Williams called “regular friends, without getting the outside world involved.” But there was never any doubt in the minds of Williams, Zac Farro, or Taylor York that Paramore would be back. They may have expected some rust, but on their very first day rec...

OPETH frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt has paid tribute to vocalist/bassist Burke Shelley of legendary Welsh rockers BUDGIE who died on Monday, January 10 at the age of 71. Earlier today, Mikael took to OPETH‘s social media to write: “I almost choked on my coffee this morning when I read that one of my idols, the great Burke Shelley of BUDGIE had passed away. What a terrible loss! “Most people know BUDGIE as the band that METALLICA covered (‘Breadfan’, ‘Crash Course In Brain Surgery’) ages ago. They remained underdogs in the scene even if they’re there right in the beginning of the creation of hard rock/heavy metal music. “I think Burke was one of those guys who was quite uncomfortable with the heavy metal tag, but it’s undeniable that t...
