Elmo Reignites Beef with Rocco After Old Clips Go Viral

Tensions between Elmo and Rocco the Rock have reached unprecedented levels. After old clips of the bitter rivals blew up on Twitter earlier this week, that Little Red Menace is reigniting the drama. For the uninitiated, Rocco is Zoe’s pet rock. Zoe and Rocco are best friends — so much so that she brings Rocco everywhere, and expects everyone to just play along with her one-sided friendship. But Elmo won’t have it. Ever since 1999, when Rocco first appeared on Sesame Street, Elmo’s been the only one to realize that he is, in fact, a rock, and not a person. The gaslighting that ensues is despicable. “Rocks can’t play! Rocco didn’t even move!,” Elmo insists in one clip, when Zoe tries to force Rocco’s way into the Elmo-Gabi-Zoe friend group. “Sure he did! You were just too busy...

Four months ago, the New Orleans police announced that the 51-year-old Foss was reported missing by her group home manager after last being seen on September 7, 2021. Local Fox TV station WVUE issued a notice via its official Facebook page describing her at the time as being 5-foot-3 and 200 pounds. The police also urged anyone with additional information on Foss‘s whereabouts to contact them. One day after the news of Rayna‘s apparent disappearance was reported by the rock music media, her 22-year-old daughter Kayla — whose father is Foss‘s former husband, SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose — released the following statement via her Instagram accoun...

BULLETBOYS Part Ways With Original Guitarist MICK SWEDA And Drummer JIMMY D’ANDA

BULLETBOYS have parted ways with original members Jimmy D’Anda (drums) and Mick Sweda (guitar). The duo’s exit — which was first reported by Metal Sludge — was officially announced by Sweda in a Facebook Live stream on Monday (January 3). Mick said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We as BULLETBOYS were scheduled to play the Whisky [A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on December 16], and, unfortunately, at the last minute, realized that Lonnie [Vencent] wasn’t gonna be able to make it. So that gig kind of went down the tubes. And if the truth were to be known, that gig was to be Jimmy‘s last. He decided that he wasn’t gonna continue on. “Anybody that knows anything about this band knows that volatility was a huge component in both its succe...

Thousands of COVID-19 Cases Linked to Bad Bunny Concert in Puerto Rico

A Bad Bunny concert that took place about three weeks ago in the singer’s native Puerto Rico has been called a super-spreader event after it contributed to a major surge in the island’s COVID-19 cases. The New York Times reports that Puerto Rico faced a 4,600% (!) increase in cases in the last few weeks, despite about three-quarters of its population having received two vaccine doses. Approximately 2,000 people reported falling ill after the Bad Bunny concert, which boasted a crowd of 60,000. While there is no agreed-upon definition of a super-spreader event, the term has been used been used for everything from a few dozen transmissions to the hundreds or thousands. Puerto Rico, a US territory, had been celebrating one of the most successful vaccination efforts in the country. But as ...

Israeli Politicians Call Emma Watson Anti-Semitic for Pro-Palestine Instagram Post

Emma Watson has long been an outspoken actress, but her most recent foray into activism isn’t going over well with some politicians. After sharing a pro-Palestine image on Instagram on January 2nd, the Harry Potter star has come under fire from some Israeli politicians, who called the post anti-Semitic. Watson posted a photo of a pro-Palestine protest with the phrase “Solidarity is a verb” overlaid across the center. In the caption, she quoted the academic Sara Ahmed, who offers insight into the meaning of solidarity. All things considered, it’s a pretty harmless post — Watson doesn’t even use her own words, let alone comment on Israel or Jewish people directly. See for yourself below. Still, that didn’t stop Israeli politicians from turning on the actress. “10 points from Gryffindor for b...

Kanye West and Billie Eilish are expected to headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2022, but who else will appear at the top of the lineup remains up in the air. Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and Rage Against the Machine were previously announced as Coachella’s 2020 headliners prior to the festival’s postponement due to pandemic. Last summer, co-founder Paul Tollett told the Los Angeles Times that Scott and Rage Against the Machine would play the festival’s long-awaited return in April 2022, while Ocean would appear in 2023.  Much has changed in the months since then, however. Rayna Foss’ Daughter Says Former Coal Chamber Bassist Is Not Missing

Earlier this week, it had come to light that original Coal Chamber bassist Rayna Foss was reported missing back in September. Now, her daughter, Kayla Rose, has set the record straight, revealing that her mother is not missing and that she spoke with her mother “as recently as yesterday.” On September 13th, local Fox TV affiliate WVUE posted that Foss was reported missing on September 7th by a manager at the New Orleans group home in which the musician apparently resides. The report went largely unnoticed for nearly four months but was finally picked up by metal sites this week. Kayla, who is the daughter of Foss and her ex-husband, Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose, took to Instagram today (January 5th), to report that her mother is safe and sound: “To everyone that has reached out in some wa...

Thorns – TONY MARTIN

RATING: 9/10 When legendary bands replace iconic vocalists with new frontmen, apprehension takes hold. Bands as varied as AC/DC, DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW, IRON MAIDEN, VAN HALEN and ALICE IN CHAINS were put to the test for various reasons — numerous times for some — and the results varied immensely. The debate within the peanut gallery regarding BLACK SABBATH generally focuses upon Ozzy Osbourne and Ronnie James Dio, and while there were others, Tony Martin was a praise-worthy unsung hero. Martin‘s contributions to BLACK SABBATH have been overlooked or dismissed by many, but his performances, as well as the material, weren’t always given a fair shake and assessment. Hindsight is 20/20, and however one rates his work with the pioneering heavy metal beast, Martin returns now with his third...

DEEP PURPLE’s ROGER GLOVER On COVID Lockdowns: ‘If Everyone Had Their Own Guidelines, It Would Be Chaos’

In a new interview with Chile’s Radio Futuro, DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover weighed in on some governments’ decision to use lockdown measures as an integral part of combating COVID. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I think that that’s what government is for, whether we trust them or don’t. We have to have some kind of guideline, and that’s the only one. If everyone had their own guidelines, it would be chaos. So we don’t have a lot of choice about it. Actually, it’s money versus life, isn’t it? That’s what it boils down to. And I have to go for life. But I understand both sides.” Last month, U.S. president Joe Biden said his plan to fight COVID-19 during the winter months would not include new lockdowns. ...
