Shadows Fall Reunite to Play First Show in Six Years: Watch

Shadows Fall reunited for their first show in six years on Saturday (December 18th) at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. The influential metalcore band had previously announced the one-off concert in its home state way back in June. Before that, we hadn’t heard much of anything from the Shadows Fall camp since the group went on hiatus following gigs in 2015 — although guitarist Jon Donais has been keeping busy as a member of Anthrax the past several years. The celebratory reunion show featured a stacked lineup with support from Unearth, Darkest Hour, Within the Ruins, Sworn Enemy, and Carnivora. As part of Metallica’s “San Francisco Takeover” to mark their 40th anniversary, a handful of club gigs were announced to surround the metal titans’ massive shows at the Chase Center. One of those shows included three bands — OTTTO, Taipei Houston, and Bastardane — with each featuring at least one son of a Metallica member. The gig took place Saturday night (December 18th) at The Chapel, with Bastardane taking the stage first. Based out of Savannah, Georgia, the group features drummer Castor Hetfield, son of Metallica frontman James Hetfield. The trio had a sound that was just as much thrash metal influenced as it was hard rock, and put on an impressive set. R.I.P. Carlos Marín, Il Divo Singer Dead at 53

Carlos Marín, one-quarter of the multi-national vocal group Il Divo, has died at the age of 53. The surviving members of the quartet announced the news on Twitter. “It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away,” the group wrote. “He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There wiIl never be another voice or spirit like Carlos.” The statement continued: “For 17 years the four of us have been on this incredible journey of Il Divo together, and we will miss our dear friend. We hope and pray that his beautiful soul will rest in peace. AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows is mourning the passing of his longtime vocal coach Ron Anderson who died earlier today at the age of 75. No cause of death has been revealed. M. Shadows shared the news of Anderson‘s passing in a social media post on Sunday. He wrote: “This morning my dear friend and vocal coach, Ron Anderson, passed away. “In 2004, after ‘Waking The Fallen’ I was having trouble with my vocal folds.
