Multi-camera drum-cam video footage of Jay Weinberg performing the new SLIPKNOT single “The Chapeltown Rag” live with his bandmates for the first time on November 5 at Knotfest Los Angeles can be seen below. The event was livestreamed as it happened, giving fans access to both the studio version and SLIPKNOT‘s live performance of “The Chapeltown Rag” within only hours of its premiere. The studio version of “The Chapeltown Rag”, which was released on November 5, was produced by Joe Baressi, who has previously worked with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and CHEVELLE, among many others. SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor described the song to Knotfest.com as “a punisher,” saying it documents what happens when the distortions of mass...

Watch IRON MAIDEN’s BRUCE DICKINSON Sing A Cappella Version Of ‘Revelations’ At Edinburgh Spoken-Word Show

Fan-filmed video footage of Bruce Dickinson belting out an a cappella version of the IRON MAIDEN song “Revelations” during his December 10 spoken-word show at Usher Hall in Edinburgh, United Kingdom can be seen below. Earlier this month, Bruce spoke to BBC Radio Scotland‘s “The Afternoon Show” about his gig at Usher Hall. Asked if it takes a different type of courage to stand in a front of an audience without a backing band and a huge production, Dickinson said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s terrifying. It’s absolutely terrifying. I’ve got a little carpet that I stand on, which appears… I requested a carpet to stand on. And there’s a little table and a glass of water and, more often than not, a bottle of beer. And tha...

MASTODON’s TROY SANDERS Reveals Two Things Which Have Kept His Band Together For More Than 20 Years

In a new interview with Metal Wani, MASTODON singer/bassist Troy Sanders was asked to what he attributes the band’s longevity. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I attribute the longevity to two main things, I believe. Number one is that we have, thankfully, over time continued to grow together. In any human relationship, you always hope for the best, but it’s very natural for people to grow apart. And that’s very normal — a normal thing to happen. So the good fortune and fate that we’ve stuck together and continued to grow together. And number two is that we’re all still incredibly passionate about creating music. Thankfully, none of us have a personal writer’s block where… We’re not the main songwriters, so if someone’...

DREAM THEATER’s JOHN PETRUCCI: ‘Live Music Has Been Missing From All Of Our Lives For Way Too Long’

In a new interview with Turkey’s %100 Metal, DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci spoke about the band’s upcoming European tour which is scheduled to kick off next April in Belfast, United Kingdom. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The last show that we played was the end of February 2020, so this will be more than two years since coming to Europe. We’re not doing ‘An Evening With…’ so there’ll be an opening band playing with us that we’re working on. And we’re gonna play a bunch of material from the new album, obviously. We do have a new stage set that’s in development that we’re trying to make an all-encompassing view from the top of the world. So, we’ll see. We’re working on that. And we’ll...

Billie Eilish Hosts SNL: The Six Best Sketches

Billie Eilish went through a minor but impressive pop-culture rite of passage this weekend on Saturday Night Live: After appearing as musical guest in September 2019, she returned to the show for double duty, hosting and serving as musical guest. This isn’t exclusively the specialty of young, female pop stars—Justin Timberlake has famously done it, as have Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, and a bunch of others—but it does feel like a particular proving ground for that demo, especially in the past decade-plus. Double-duty gals have included Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus, who (like Britney) has done a double-double, with two separate host/guest stints. (Cyrus must have been on hand to advise Eilish; she actually appeared in a sketch before Eilish herself did...

PAUL STANLEY Attends Memorial Service For Longtime Guitar Tech FRANCIS STUEBER

On Saturday (December 11), KISS frontman Paul Stanley attended a memorial service for his longtime guitar tech Francis Stueber. Stueber died of coronavirus in his Detroit hotel room on October 17, just two days after being quarantined. He was only 53 years old. Stanley tweeted out a photo of yesterday’s memorial service program and he included the following message: “Today was the memorial service to celebrate and remember my dear friend and wingman, Fran Stueber. So much sadness I saw there can only come from so much love. We all miss him and struggle to accept that he’s really gone. I pray for his wonderful family. Truly tragic.” After Stueber died, Stanley paid tribute his friend, writing: “My dear friend, buddy and guitar tech for 20 years, Fran Stueber died yes...

Former DEATH Members Honor CHUCK SCHULDINER At First Tribute Concert In Tampa (Video)

On Saturday (December 11), former DEATH members played the first of two shows commemorating the 20th anniversary of the passing of the band’s mastermind Chuck Schuldiner at Brass Mug in Tampa, Florida. James Murphy (guitar) and Terry Butler (bass) performed DEATH‘s classic third album, “Spiritual Healing” (1990), in its entirety under the LIVING MONSTROSITY banner, while Steve DiGiorgio (bass), Bobby Koelble (guitar) and Kelly Conlon (bass) joined forces as SYMBOLIC to play songs from “Human” (1991), “Individual Thought Patterns” (1993), “Symbolic” (1995) and “The Sound Of Perseverance” (1998). Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below. Tonight’s show (December 12) at the Brass Mug will be livestr...

Billie Eilish Confirms Her Rock Star Status with SNL Performance of “Happier Than Ever”: Watch

In 2019, Dave Grohl famously proclaimed Billie Eilish as the future of rock ‘n’ roll. “The same thing is happening with her that happened with Nirvana in 1991,” Grohl said. “People say, ‘Is rock dead?’ When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, rock and roll is not close to dead!” While some may scoff at the comparison, one needs to look no further than Eilish’s Saturday Night Live performance of “Happier Than Ever” to see one of the more kick ass concert moments in recent memory. The title track to Eilish’s sophomore LP began as a hushed ballad sung from a love seat positioned on an on-set living room. However, as the song reached its crescendo, the 20-year-old singer assumed the role of rock ‘n’ roll frontwoman, leading her brother Finneas and drummer Andrew Marshall with the same unbrid...

MACHINE HEAD Is ‘Getting Towards The End’ Of Recording Process For Next Album

MACHINE HEAD is continuing work on its new album at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Zack Ohren for a tentative summer 2022 release. Frontman Robb Flynn offered an update on the LP’s progress during the latest episode of his “No Fuckin’ Regrets With Robb Flynn” podcast. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m in the studio right now. In fact, we started yesterday — Zack and I were in the recording studio finishing up the new album, working on the new album. It’s coming along. Right now, they’re setting up in there. They’ve got Navene Koperweis [of] ENTHEOS, ANIMALS AS LEADERS and a million other bands — he is setting up drums and he’s gonna be laying down some heat with the drums. Yeah, it’s ...

BIFF BYFORD Says SAXON’s Early Albums Were ‘Just As Good As’ IRON MAIDEN’s ‘The Number Of The Beast’

In a new interview with Robert Cavuoto of Metal Rules, SAXON frontman Biff Byford was asked at which point he and his bandmates started to reap the finical benefits of their success. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I don’t think we ever did, to tell you the truth. I don’t think I can remember having a big, fat check. You have to remember that in ’83, around the ‘Power & The Glory’ time, is when we really started to break America. And I think something happened with the record company at that point. We were touring with [IRON] MAIDEN — a pretty big tour — and then halfway through, it sort of stopped. So I don’t really know what happened. Maybe because you had to buy on the tours back then. I don’t know. Something happen...

Travis Scott’s Cacti Hard Seltzer Discontinued

Travis Scott’s Cacti hard seltzer has been discontinued by manufacturer Anheuser-Busch after less than a year on the market, Billboard reports. The seltzer hit stores in March. Cacti’s end comes after Scott gave his first interview since the Astroworld tragedy killed 10 people and injured hundreds of others. Speaking with Charlamagne tha God, the rapper said he wasn’t aware of the chaos that ensued while he was performing, and that he does not feel responsible for the tragedy. A spokesman for Scott told Pitchfork that the decision to cease production on Cacti was mutual, and that the deal was already set to expire on November 30th. “Travis was clear in his interview that he is not focused on business right now and his priority is helping his community and fans heal,” the representative sai...
