Jin of BTS has unveiled his solo single, “The Astronaut,” a dreamy track co-written by Coldplay. Animation Legend Henry Selick on What He’s Learned From The Nightmare Before Christmas to Wendell & Wild

Director Henry Selick clearly has a soft spot for the spookiest time of year, having brought The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and now the new Netflix animated adventure Wendell & Wild to the screen. But here’s his favorite part of Halloween these days: getting to see trick-or-treaters in familiar costumes while distributing candy at his home. “I was delighted when more and more kids start showing up as Nightmare Before Christmas characters and then some Coraline characters,” he tells Consequence. “That’s my favorite, is kids dressed up as characters from films that I’ve worked on.” The best part is that the kids don’t know whose house they’ve arrived at, and, says Selick, “I’ve got a lot of puppets and memorabilia from all the films. So if the kids are dressed up like Nightmar...

Mötley Crüe Officially Name John 5 as Mick Mars’ Replacement in Touring Lineup

Mötley Crüe have officially named Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 as a new member of their touring lineup. He replaces founding member Mick Mars, who retired from touring on Wednesday (October 26th) due to his ongoing battle with the degenerative disease Ankylosing Spondylitis. John 5 had been rumored to take Mars’ place, even before the latter officially announced his retirement. In recent days, John 5 posted pictures of himself hanging out with Mötley Crüe members Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, and Vince Neil during a celebration of Lee’s 60th birthday. In the statement that Mars’ representative issued on Wednesday night, it was made clear that Mars would still “continue as a member of the band,” but would no longer play shows with them. However, the Crüe’s statement on Thursday (October 27th) reads...

Mining Metal: Abduction, Daeva, Faceless Burial, Forlesen, God Alone, MAL, The Otolith, and SUMAC/Keiji Haino

Every month, I could write to you all about how the selection process for this column is hard. When you first sit down to do something like this, there’s a hunger to write about all the bands that really get your engines going, to finally get to make people outside of your circle hear the things you’ve rehearsed in your head to pitch all this music you love to others. But as the months (and now years) creep on, you start finding that, well, those bands keep putting out music and a lot of it has stayed pretty good, but now new bands have joined the pack, and oh that’s a new label, and I’ve never even heard of this scene before, and wow these classic bands came back and put out a really special release, and… So sometimes the choices are less based on pure quality as other paradigms. One of t...

Kanye West Wanted to Name 2018 Album After Hitler: Report

Kanye West has an “obsession” with Adolf Hitler and once considered naming his 2018 album after the Nazi leader. The revelation comes from a new CNN report, which cites a former business executive who worked for West as well as several other unnamed sources. The executive, who left his position and reached a settlement with West over the rapper’s workplace behavior, told CNN that West “would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people.” West also spoke openly about reading Mein Kampf — even though he claims to have never read any book — and expressed his “admiration” for Hitler and the Nazis and for their use of propaganda, the executive added. Matt Sorum Announces Kings of Chaos Album, Reunites Velvet Revolver Lineup for First Single “Judgement Day”: Stream

Veteran drummer Matt Sorum has announced the debut album from his all-star project Kings of Chaos, and reunited the Velvet Revolver lineup for the new single “Judgement Day.” Sorum performed and co-wrote “Judgement Day” alongside Slash, Duff McKagan, and Dave Kushner — all of whom played with Sorum in Velvet Revolver, the mid-2000s hard rock supergroup fronted by the late Scott Weiland. The song lives up to its all-star billing, with a high-speed pace and blazing leads from Slash and Kushner. Sorum handles lead vocals and sounds great on the mic, embracing the humor and punkish bite of the track. That humor transfers over to the music video, which features a cameo from ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and sees Sorum driving like a madman in an homage to Vanishing Point, screaming the song lyrics al...

Top 5 Mötley Crüe Guitarist Candidates Following Mick Mars’ Retirement from Touring

With Mick Mars stepping away from touring, one of the highest profile guitar gigs in rock music is now on the job market. Mötley Crüe’s founding axeman will still remain a member of the band, but will no longer play live shows due to his ongoing battle with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a crippling degenerative disease that affects the spine. In addition to his health issues, Mars is the elder statesman of the Crüe, roughly a decade older than everyone else in the band. In the infamous Crüe biography The Dirt, Mars described how he often caught flak for his age, as he was already established as a journeyman guitarist in the years prior to Mötley Crüe’s formation. Given Mars’ experience, it’s only fitting that Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil tap someone who not only fits the part but has al...

Tim Allen Gets Forced Out of Retirement in Trailer for The Santa Clauses: Watch

Just when Tim Allen’s Scott Calvin thought he was out, he gets reined back in. That’s the premise of his new TV series The Santa Clauses, which is set to debut on Disney+ in less than a month. Ahead of its premiere, the streamer has shared another trailer offering a look at the six-episode series. The clip depicts Allen’s character adjusting to life as a normal person after retiring from his role as Santa Claus. “For the first time, I’m going to spend Christmas with my family,” he tells his wife (Elizabeth Mitchell). Predictably, the transition to Calvin’s successor isn’t as smooth as he had hoped. “New Santa is destroying Christmas spirit,” says one of the elves when they sound the alarm at the North Pole. “When the light goes out, it could be the end of Christmas.” Advertisement Rel...

Adele Drinks Wine in the Music Video for “I Drink Wine”: Watch

“I Drink Wine” was the first music video Adele shot for 30, and now, almost a year after the album’s release, the visual for the track has finally arrived. Check it out below. The visuals show Adele floating on an inner tube down a meandering river, a glass of wine in one hand and an eye on her memories as they’re reenacted along the riverbank. Along the way she’s joined by synchronized swimmers and tempted by handsome shirtless men and sobriety. Check it out below. Released last November, 30 broke sales records and helped CD sales reach a near two-decade high. On November 18th, Adele will kick off “Weekends with Adele,” her Las Vegas residency that she rescheduled from last winter after citing COVID delays and a subpar setup.
