Alice in Chains Announce Dirt 30th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue and Boxset

Alice in Chains’ seminal 1992 album Dirt is receiving a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue and boxset. The announcement comes right after the band launched its tour with Breaking Benjamin and Bush. The trek picks back up tomorrow (August 13th) in Syracuse, New York, and runs through October 8th in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Get tickets via Ticketmaster. Dirt was recently certified five-times platinum by the RIAA and was overdue for a vinyl repress, having been out of print for the past couple years. Broken Bells Detail New Album INTO THE BLUE, Share “Saturdays”: Stream

Broken Bells have announced their new album, INTO THE BLUE, is out on October 7th via AWAL. The musical duo of The Shins’ James Mercer and Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) also shared the latest single “Saturdays.” INTO THE BLUE finds Broken Bells drawing influence from The Beatles and Pink Floyd, as well as pulling from genres ranging from ’60s psychedelia and ’70s rock and AM Gold to ’80s new wave and ’90s trip-hop. The Lemonheads Announce It’s a Shame About Ray 30th Anniversary Tour

The Lemonheads have announced a 2022 North American tour to mark the 30th anniversary of their album It’s a Shame About Ray. Serving as support will be a rotating cast of former member Juliana Hatfield (who played on the LP), Rusty, The Nils, Bass Drum of Death, and On Being An Angel. The trek starts in Lititz, Pennsylvania on November 17th, with subsequent stops in Toronto, Seattle, Chicago, New York City, DC, and more before wrapping on December 17th in Boston. Pixies Unveil “Vault of Heaven” and Four-Date US Tour: Stream

Pixies go on an epic journey from a 7-11 to the “Vault of Heaven” on their newest single. The track appears on their September 30th album, Doggerel, and if you live in California or New York, you’ll be able to hear it live on the band’s newly-announced four-date US tour. “Vault of Heaven” would seem to be about a bad drug trip, but that depends on a rare word they’re using often, “titrate.” As in, “There in the vault of heaven/ While trying to titrate/ I ended up in another case/ I went to 7-11 to try and get me straight/ I ended up there in outer space.” Most commonly, titration is an attempt to measure the concentration of a chemical, though in medicine the term is sometimes used when adjusting a dosage. Arctic Monkeys performed their first concert since before the pandemic in Istanbul, Turkey on Tuesday, August 9th. During the first of two nights at Zorlu Center PSM, the band played a career-spanning, 21-song set. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have canceled the remainder of their UK and European tour dates in light of a “personal health crisis” that’s inflicted their lead singer, Stu Mackenzie. In a statement posted to Instagram on August 5th, Mackenzie revealed that he suffers from Crohn’s Disease and explained that a recent flare up has required him to return home to Australia for “urgent treatment.” “For the past decade or so I’ve dealt with Crohn’s Disease the best I can,” Mackenzie said. “It’s a miracle we haven’t cancelled any shows in the past. After sharing a pair of comeback singles, The Mars Volta are finally ready to release their first proper album in 10 years. Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López have announced a new self-titled album, due out on September 16th via Cloud Hill. In anticipation, a new song called “Vigil” is out now. The Mars Volta released their most recent album Noctourniquet in 2012 before Bixler-Zavala and Rodríguez-López went their separate ways.
