“Weird Al” Yankovic brought out The Presidents of the United States of America frontman Chris Ballew on Tuesday night at the Seattle stop for his ongoing 2022 tour to perform the hometown band’s breakout 1996 hit, “Peaches.” Yankovic kicked off the cover in earnest, taking on the country-tinged introduction and grunge-edged verses by himself before a familiar falsetto preceded Ballew’s stage entrance. The seated Yankovic feigned surprise as Ballew snuck behind him and tapped his shoulder, then the pair launched into the song’s “millions of peaches” sing-along refrain. They jumped together in time, swayed with their hands up, and even threw in some high-kick heroics to cap the performance. Watch Yankovic’s own captured footage release below. The show is part of Yankovic’s “The Unfortunate R...

Now, the married couple are ready to take the show on the road, announcing Tuesday (June 28th) via Twitter that a 2023 tour is happening, but that venues and box office details were yet to come. The pair are based in England, and at this time it’s unclear if the outing will be a UK/European jaunt or a North American run … or, hopefully, both. Advertisement Re...

Pearl Jam are expanding their latest album with Gigaton (Tour Edition), a new project that includes the original LP as well as 11 Gigaton live cuts. The album hits streaming services on July 8th and will be available as a limited-edition LP/CD combo in independent record stores, while members of the Pearl Jam Ten Club can order it as a standalone CD. Pearl Jam unveiled Gigaton in 2020, and like most artists, they’ve had a sporadic, COVID-willing touring schedule ever since. Earlier this year, when drummer Matt Cameron came down with the virus, everyone from Josh Klinghoffer, Richard Stuveru, original drummer Dave Krusen, and numerous young fans filled in behind the kit to keep the tour going — until bassist Jeff Ament got sick as well. In better news, the band more recently broug...
One month after the passing of Depeche Mode founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher, the band has shared the cause of death at the request of his family. “Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26,” wrote Martin Gore and Dave Gahan in a statement. “So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.” The statement continued, “We had a celebration of Andy’s life in London last week, which was a beautiful ceremony and gathering with a few tears, but filled with the great memories of who Andy was, stories of all of our times together, and some good laughs. Andy was celebrated in a room full of many of his friends and family, our immediate DM family, and so many people who have touched Andy’s and our lives throughout the years. ...
The Jesus & Mary Chain’s performance at Glastonbury was all the more sweeter thanks to a surprise cameo from Phoebe Bridgers. The Punisher singer joined JAMC as a guest vocalist on “Just Like Honey” during their Friday evening set at the UK mega fest. She then led the crowd in chanting, “Fuck the Supreme Court!” Advertisement Last week, The Jesus & Mary Chain released a deluxe reissue of their 2017...
Toyah Willcox keeps coming up with new eye-catching outfits, or lack thereof, for her “Sunday Lunch” performances with husband Robert Fripp. In the very colorful latest edition of the weekly series, Toyah wears nothing but gold leaf while pouring paint on herself as she sings Foo Fighters’ “All My Life.” As King Crimson guitarist Fripp plays the recognizable riff from Foo Fighters’ hit off 2002’s One by One, Toyah starts squirting paint on her gold-leafed chest, never missing a beat as she sings the song’s verse and chorus. Coincidentally, Robert and Toyah’s “All My Life” performance comes on the same weekend that Dave Grohl joined Paul McCartney onstage at the UK’s Glastonbury festival, marking the first time the Foo Fighters frontman has performed live since the tragic passing of drummer...
Dirty Heads are keeping the summer vibes rolling with a reggae-tinged cover of Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good.” Listen to the track below. “Life’s Been Good” already had a breezy air to it, but Dirty Heads revamp the 1978 track by trimming down Walsh’s rock instrumentals and adding in their own rapped verses. In a statement, lead singer Jared Watson called the cover “the perfect follow up to ‘Vacation,’ their 2017 hit whose equally sunny mood made it a TikTok sensation. “It just felt right. If you like the vibe of ‘Vacation,’ if that song impacted your life in a positive way, this is a continuation of that feeling. And I think the story of enjoying life is really what Dirty Heads are all about.” Naturally, Dirty Heads’ “Life’s Been Good” cover comes with a Jay Teegardin and Jared Watson-dir...

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Rage Against the Machine have pledged $475,000 to abortion rights. The band announced the donation in a June 24th statement. “We are disgusted by the repeal of Roe v. Wade and the devastating impact it will have on tens of millions of people,” they said. “Over half of the country (26 states) is likely to ban or seriously restrict abortion very soon, if not immediately, which will have a disproportionate impact on poor, working class and undocumented BIPOC communities.” Rage continued, “To date, our fans have raised $475,000 from the sale of our charity tickets at Alpine Valley and the United Center. We are donating that money to reproductive rights organizations in Wisconsin and Illinois.” The charity shows — a July 9th date a...
