IGP: Insecurity challenges can be addressed through intelligence gathering
Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, on Thursday said the insecurity challenges in the country can be largely addressed through effective intelligence generation by the State Intelligence Bureau, SIB. The Inspector General of Police made this statement in Warri, Delta State, during the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the State Intelligence Investigation Bureau, SIIB, Office in Warri Area Command, Delta State, by the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ. Residents count losses as flood ravages Kaduna communities
Residents in some Kaduna communities have continued to count their losses as their homes were overtaken on Saturday over by flood. The constant rainfalls have made several communities in Kaduna metropolis and environs suffer damages following a heavy downpour that resulted in flooding which submerged some houses, farmlands and destroyed properties. Some of the affected communities include Abubakar Kigo road, Barnawa, Kudenda, Ungwar Dosa, Angwar Rimi, Malali areas among others. Police arrest nine for ‘armed robbery, cultism’ in Enugu
Nine persons have been arrested by the Police in Enugu state for involving in offences of conspiracy, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearm, cultism, and receiving of stolen property. Female passer-by burnt to death as tanker loses control on Ibadan expressway
A female passer-by was on Saturday night burnt to death in an accident around Lotto area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Babatunde Akinbiyi, Spokesperson, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta on Sunday.
