Alex Israel’s ‘Heaven’ Installation Is Only for Those on the Slopes

Following his 'Noir' exhibition at Gagosian Los Angeles, Alex Israel returns with a partnership with Aspen One and the Aspen Art Museum. The renowned artist has created an ode to Old Hollywood within the space of Aspen Mountain’s iconic Ruthie’s restaurant. Entitled ‘Heaven,’ this is dubbed as the world’s first-ever ski-in/ski-out art installation.Israel’s immersive installation explores celebrity memory in the social media age. Mickalene Thomas Revvs Up DART Car’s Custom McLaren

The Driven Artists Racing Team (DART Car) tapped American artist Mickalene Thomas to design a custom wrap for their debut McLaren Artura GT4 race car, making the launch of the women-led motorsports team. The team will unveil the inaugural commission at New York’s Classic Car Club on February 18, before its track-bound debut this spring.Renderings reveal bold, reflective streaks of colors and patterns wrapped around the exterior, as the front of the vehicle bears an abstract portrait of a woman's face. Huma Bhabha Mounts Towering Sculptures at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Huma Bhabha’s "Before The End" brings four towering bronze sculptures to Brooklyn Bridge Park, their haunting forms set against the Manhattan skyline. Presented by the Public Art Fund, the exhibition, running through March 2025, draws on Bhabha’s fascination with apocalyptic imagery, sci-fi and horror. The title comes from medieval writer Vincent of Beauvais, whose dark visions resonate with the artist’s own concerns about the state of the world.The figures—cast from carved cork and skeletal fragments—serve as both warnings and witnesses. “I titled it Before The End. NTDC explores Lagos creative communities on Google Arts & Culture

The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has concluded plans to explore Lagos creative communities on Google Arts & Culture in five different ways. The project tagged; ‘Eko for Show’, is in partnership with Google Arts & Culture towards celebrating Lagos and its creative communities. The Director-General of NTDC, Mr Folorunsho Coker, who made the revelation in an interaction with the media, said that Lagos is one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities and that its creative scene is taking the world by storm. Coker noted that with over 25 million people, the city’s creative scene is fueled by a young generation of talented individuals and communities spanning music, art, photography, fashion, theatre, literature and food.
