Guns N’ Roses to Release Greatest Hits Album on Vinyl for First Time Ever
Guns N’ Roses’ multi-platinum 2004 Greatest Hits compilation is set to receive its first-ever vinyl release. The double-LP set arrives September 25th. For many budding rockers in the early aughts (this writer included), Greatest Hits served as the entry point into Guns N’ Roses’ legendary discography. The tracklist spanned the band’s career at the time, and hit all the major checkpoints: the obligatory Appetite for Destruction mega-hits (“Welcome to the Jungle”, “Paradise City”, “Sweet Child ‘O Mine”), the best songs from Use Your Illusion I and II, the Lies ballad “Patience”, and even soundtrack contributions (the cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” from Interview with a Vampire). Guns N’ Roses Reschedule North American Tour Dates for 2021
After postponing their summer North American tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Guns N’ Roses have unveiled the rescheduled dates. The outing will now take place in summer 2021, but will be comprised of six fewer dates than the planned 2020 run. Originally, Guns N’ Roses had 19 North American shows scheduled for this summer, but the 2021 outing will only include 13 concerts. The band cites “routing and venue availability issues” as the reasons why six of the shows have been outright canceled. The 2021 run kicks off July 10th with a headlining appearance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and runs through an August 19th show at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. A&E has set a September 7th premiere for Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, a new documentary chronicling the metal icon’s life and career. The documentary, which was first announced in January, was slated to premiere at SXSW in March prior to the festival being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now Paul McCartney has called for the Edmund Pettus Bridge to be renamed the John Lewis Bridge, saying “Long may his memory remain in our hearts.” The Pettus Bridge wasn’t chosen at random. In 1965, it hosted one of the more shameful events in US history. Ozzy Osbourne Begins Work on Another New Album
Ozzy Osbourne released his first solo LP in a decade earlier this year, but the metal godfather is already hard at work on the follow-up album. Moreover, he continues to recover from his various health setbacks, with his wife Sharon reporting that he’s “getting stronger every day.” The legendary singer revealed earlier this year that he’s been battling Parkinson’s disease, admitting he was first diagnosed in 2003. Additionally, he suffered a nasty fall at his home in 2019, forcing him to postpone all of his touring last year.
