Morgan Wallen’s Airplay Continues to Plummet, Streams Steady, Sales Surge

AIRPLAY Wallen’s airplay has collapsed to a nominal amount since the TMZ video was posted. Looking at the last seven days of airplay (Jan. 30-Feb. 5), his song catalog was averaging 1,500 to 1,600 plays daily on reporters to Billboard’s Country Airplay chart through Feb. 2, according to MRC Data. On Feb. 3, as multiple radio groups dropped his music, his catalog fell by 74% in plays that day. His totals have since cratered to a relatively miniscule 55 and 25 plays on Feb. 4 and 5, respectively. On Tuesday (Feb. 2), TMZ posted a video recorded over the weekend of Morgan Wallen yelling expletives, including the N-word. The country star offered an apology to TMZ, taking responsibility for his words in the grainy video. “I’m embarrassed and sorry,” Wallen told TMZ. “I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. Nigerian government berates Amnesty International over call for service chiefs’ prosecution

The House of Representatives Committee on Youths Development on Tuesday allayed the fear of the possible spread of COVID-19 in the orientation camps of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) currently in progress across the country. Saudi Arabia: Nigerian to evacuate 420 nationals

The Federal Government, has concluded plans to evacuate another set of 420 Nigerians from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. An official of the Crises Monitoring and Public Communications Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed the planned evacuation to newsmen in Abuja. The 420 Nigerians, the third batch to be returned to the country in a space of one week, are expected to arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:30am today (Wednesday) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. NESG: Nigerian economy to beat IMF growth forecast in 2021

The Nigerian Economic Summit Group has predicted a growth rate of 2.9 per cent for the Nigerian economy in 2021, higher than the 1.5 per cent growth rate suggested by the International Monetary Fund. The NESG identified eight key policies and events that will help shape the outlook of Nigerian economy in 2021. This is contained in the group’s 2021 Macroeconomic Outlook Report titled, “Four Priorities for the Nigerian Economy in 2021 and Beyond,” launched virtually on Tuesday.
