The two rock bands are joining forces for a 30-date run, beginning on January 21. The presale starts at 10 a.m. local tomorrow, November 4, and the general sale begins at the same time Friday, Nov. 5. “We played one co-headline show with Dirty Honey back in September,” Van Halen said. “As soon as the night was over, we knew this would be a great package to take across the US. We couldn’t be more excited to share the stage with them and give all of the fans an unforgettable night of rock music.” Supporting both bands’ self-titled debuts released this year, the Young Guns tour will close on March 5, 2022, at the Fantasy Casino in Indio, California. Dirty Honey Want to Put the Roll Back in Rock

Sitting inside a hotel room with an unmade bed the morning after a show in North Carolina, Marc LaBelle is wearing a Led Zeppelin T-shirt. His well-worn Aerosmith shirt lies nearby. Talking about his preference for bands over solo acts, LaBelle says via Zoom, “I don’t have a Bob Dylan tee. I don’t have a Bruce Springsteen shirt. I like bands, and I like that energy.” The long-haired, behatted LaBelle is the frontman for one of hard rock’s best new bands, Los Angeles quartet Dirty Honey. Alongside guitarist John Notto, drummer Corey Coverstone and bassist Justin Smolian, the group struck thunder right from the start. Their 2019 debut single, the rooster-strutting “When I’m Gone,” became the first song by an unsigned band to top Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The follow-up, casino boogie...

Snore. This year, with fans returning to full capacity stadiums, it *should* feel like the NFL of recent memory for fans, players and coaches alike. Just like we have for the past two seasons, we’ve asked our expert panel of musicians how they think the season will unfold for their favorite teams. On top of the usual crew, we’ve added a bunch more who aren’t afraid to hit the mat in support of their favorite team. The one wrinkle that threw off a lot of those 8-8 predictions? The 17 game season. It will lead to more strange things and having an extra game to cheer or jeer will make the rest of the...

These Days with Dirty Honey, A Quarantine Playlist

With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here is Los Angeles-based rock band Dirty Honey: John Notto (guitar)Led Zeppelin – “How Many More Times”This song has the best riff, riff tones, drumming, drum tones, and a powerful Etta James-like vocal performance. Plus, it’s a long-form song that plays by its own rules and delivers the punch at the end. Jackson Browne – “These Days”I just love Jackson Browne. Love the storytelling, the tone of his voice, and the sound of the recordings. His music creates an instant feeling of nostalgia like you miss something while being grateful you at least had it for a time. The Rolling Stones – “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”From the iconic guitar...
