Texas High School Principal Apologizes After Saying Black Students Looked Like “Dr. Dre”

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 A Texas high school principal is now sorry after a headass comment about Black students in his school. Per the Raw Report, Principal Anthony LiVechhi has apologized to Black students for comparing them to “Dr. Dre from the ’90s” and adding they “looked like criminals.” A local NBC News affiliate obtained a video of LiVechhi being BIG MAD about how Black students dressed for “90s Throwback Day” at Oak Ridge High School located in the Houston suburb of Conroe. “It’s embarrassing. It’s frustrating. We have people posing for pictures looking like they’re Dr. Dre from the ’90s. I’m not sure that’s the look we’re going for. It doesn’t make our school look good,” LiVechhi is heard saying in the video. The principal’s comments ca...

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, & Kendrick Lamar Headlining 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: NFL / Pepsi/Roc Nation The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is typically a huge event for television viewers, and next year’s lineup will feature some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop culture. The 2020 show will be headlined by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. The aforementioned performers hardly need any introduction, most especially Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem, all among the top-selling acts within the drama. The show is also something of a full circle moment for Slim Shady as he’s reunited with his Aftermath boss on the big stage after signing with the good doctor back in 1998. Of course, the Doggfather has a number of classics with the Compton OG and fans can expect them to run through their 1990s smash hits. Related St...

Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg to Perform at This Year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

After basically ignoring the Atlanta music scene when the Big Game was there a few years ago, the NFL decided to not make the same mistake twice. For this year’s game at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the NFL is giving the Super Bowl Halftime show a distinctly Los Angeles feel, as Compton natives Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar will be joined by Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Long Beach’s own Snoop Dogg. This will be Dr. Dre’s first live performance since headlining Coachella with Snoop Dogg in 2012 (the one with 2Pac’s hologram). “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a statement. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige an...

Dr. Dre Ordered To Pay His Ex-Wife $1.5 Million in Legal Fees

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz The hits keep on coming for Dr. Dre, but not in the way that he’s used to that would lead to platinum plaques. After being ordered to pay his ex-wife $300K a month in spousal support until she remarries (never gonna happen), Page Six is reporting that he nows has to reimburse her for her lawyer fees at the tune of $1.5 million. After already forking over a cool $2 million to his ex-wife, Nicole Young, a judge ordered the good doctor to pay an additional $1.55 million in legal fees and costs. “The judge estimated that Nicole’s reasonable legal fees in the case so far should total $3 million, plus costs. Dre will now have to pay $1 million towards the balance of her fees, plus another $550,000 in costs associated with the cas...

Hold This L: Dr. Dre Sends Bizarre Tweet After 2 Year Hiatus, Twitter Tries To Figure Out What It Means

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Dr. Dre’s once-dormant official Twitter account says that “Dr. Dre doesn’t Tweet” but apparently he hands out Ls. The good Doc lit up the Internet with his first tweet in two years when his account commented underneath a post by a Twitter user named @bowyoade about British singer-songwriter VV Brown‘s feature in the Metro UK. He replied with a lonely “L”. But why? The Internet started sleuthing. What is the significance of the L? Does it mean she lost? Is the L the Roman numeral 50? Is she an ex? Maybe he forgot to log out of his burner account like Kevin Durant famously once did? Dr. Dre’s previous tweet was from 2019 when he posted a photo of him and Kanye West with a caption teasing that Kanye’s “Jesus Is ...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Even though he is a music icon Dr. Dre doesn’t have the best track record with delivering new music. Apparently Grandmaster Flash has heard his new album and according to him it will change the game. As spotted on HipHopDX the legendary DJ was out and about last week. During his rounds in Los Angeles last week the founding member of N.W.A. invited him to pull up to his estate. Naturally anyone who receives that type of invite is most likely expecting to hear some unreleased music. Luckily the Bronx, New York native got just that and received an early listen to a forthcoming Dr. Dre project. That day he posted a photo to Instagram detailing the special moment. “Here in LA doing the Disco Oasis with Nile Rogers toni...

In a rare Instagram post, The Chronic crafter shared T-Pizzle’s video and wrote in the caption, “Shoutout to @tpain!! I’m here laughing my fuckin ass off, but he’s right. I know and feel exactly what you’re saying. When the good doc speaks, we know he is more than likely speaking from experience, having to listen to submissions from artists all of the time. We know Dr. Dre has a great ear for talent becau...

Outside All Summer: Dr. Dre Is Officially A Single Man

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz It seems one of Dr. Dre’s biggest projects is finally complete. His divorce to his long-time wife is finally complete. As spotted on TMZ the legendary producer officially has formally ended his marriage to Nicole Young. According to the celebrity news site the judge presiding over their case has approved the break up thus legally ending their marriage of almost 25 years. While we are sure that Dre took the judgement as good news this is far from the end of his battle with his child’s mother. This recent decision only speaks to their legal separation but does not conclude their prenuptial agreement woes. According to Nicole she signed the papers prior to their holy union but she alleges the Compton rapper had tore ...

Several weeks ago, Dr. Dre filed legal documents asking the judge to “bifurcate” the status of their divorc...

Judge Removes Dr. Dre Lawyers From His Divorce Proceedings

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Another day another change-up outta left field in the Dr. Dre and Nicole Young divorce proceedings. The latest twist in the bitter back-and-forth between the iconic producer/rapper and his soon-to-be ex-wife comes from the judge overseeing the case as Page Six is reporting that Dr. Dre needs to find new representation in his ongoing divorce. According to the report the judge ruled that power divorce attorney Laura Wasser and Howard King cannot represent the “Still D.R.E.” rapper due to King’s history of working with the couple throughout their marriage and instructed Dre to “obtain counsel as soon as possible.” With Wasser and King handling his divorce it seemed like Dr. Dre was going to have a pretty strong team handling h...
