VP Osinbajo: We must resist all attempts to tear Nigeria apart

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on Nigerians to resist any attempt to divide the nation saying Nigeria is better as one indivisible entity. He also called for the strengthening of community policing structures which he said will result in improved security situation across the country. Woman sets sister, three others on fire over inheritance

A woman identified simply as Imole, allegedly set an apartment in Idimu area of Lagos, occupied by her sister and members of her family on fire, over an argument over her share of their late father’s four rooms apartment. Doctors at Alimosho General Hospital were still battling to save the lives of the victims, weekend. NESG: Nigerian economy to beat IMF growth forecast in 2021

The Nigerian Economic Summit Group has predicted a growth rate of 2.9 per cent for the Nigerian economy in 2021, higher than the 1.5 per cent growth rate suggested by the International Monetary Fund. The NESG identified eight key policies and events that will help shape the outlook of Nigerian economy in 2021. This is contained in the group’s 2021 Macroeconomic Outlook Report titled, “Four Priorities for the Nigerian Economy in 2021 and Beyond,” launched virtually on Tuesday. Lagos chamber projects positive economic recovery by Q2

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has projected a return to positive growth path for the Nigerian economy in the second quarter of 2021. Mrs Toki Mabogunje, President, LCCI, addressing journalists at the first edition of the chamber’s quarterly news conference, said the projection was subject to the absence of major economic shocks. Two ‘kidnappers’ arrested in Ondo

Two young men suspected to be kidnappers have been arrested in Supare Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State while trying to abduct a child in his family house. The two suspected kidnappers were caught after pretending like scavengers looking for used iron and plastic materials to buy. A source said that the two suspects were tackled when the mother of the child noticed their movement and the bag they wanted to use to carry the child.
