Tommy Kha’s Elvis-Inspired Portrait Reinstalled at Memphis Airport Following Backlash Over Its Removal

Kha initially reacted to the news in an Instagram post on Monday (March 21). “After some disturbing complaints about my work, it was decided, and without my knowledge, the pictures were removed. I’m the only artist they have removed,” Kha wrote.  In Kha’s photographic piece, he’s dressed in a jumpsuit that recalls Aloha From Hawaii–era Presley stands in a room filled with kitchen and office wares. Kha and the Memphis Urban Art Commission, which helped facilitate the airport’s purchase of Kha’s work, denounced the removal. Justin Bieber Drops Defamation Lawsuit Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Justin Bieber has dropped his lawsuit against two women who accused him on Twitter in June 2020 of sexual assaults said to have occurred in 2014 and 2015, Billboard reports and documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm. The suit was dismissed with prejudice, so Bieber will not be able to re-file the claim in the same court. A woman identified only as Danielle first accused Bieber of assaulting her in 2014 during South by Southwest in Austin. Bieber publicly denied her allegations shortly after they were initially made, going so far as to offer screenshots, receipts, emails, and articles published around the time of the alleged incident to establish his alibi. Sony Music Group is moving its Southeast Asia headquarters to Singapore, joining a host of other music and tech companies that have shifted regional business hubs away from Hong Kong amid street protests and crackdowns by the Chinese government. The new Singapore office will house SMG companies Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Publishing and artists and label services company The Orchard, the company said in a press release Tuesday (March 22).
