Freddy P Of Da Band Calls Out Diddy & MTV’s For Causing Him To “Hate Life”

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty If we’re keeping it a buck, back when rap mogul Sean Combs, AKA Diddy, brought us MTV’s Making the Band, a lot of us knew he was creating reality TV stars, not successful recording artists. Now, this isn’t because the members of Day26, Danity Kane and Da Band didn’t have the talent to make it in today’s Hip-Hop industry, it was just painfully obvious that we were watching an artist training process that was geared more towards the entertainment of reality show viewers than it was to actual tools for creating lucrative and lasting artist careers. I mean, seriously—how are you going to make a rap group walk miles to bring you cheesecake in front of the whole world and still expect them to be taken seriously as hardcore rappers? Da ...

He then flew me to Miami and proceeded to produce the first half of the best album of the year. Moral of the story…always ‘push’ your friends to be greater, even when they’re the greatest.” While Pharrell was apparently not completely on board with his new song, the Grammy-winning producer later hopped on Push’s next album, resulting in the current success g...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty Few names in music are as ubiquitous to funk and soul music as Morris Day & The Time, but it appears that the band’s name will no longer be in use according to its frontman. Morris Day took to Instagram with claims that the estate of the late Prince, who helped develop the band in the early stages of his career, blocked him from using The Time for performance purposes.
