Despite the delay of Drillmatic: Mind vs. Heart, The Game turned what was supposed to be his album release party into a show full of surprise performances. Taking over the Novo by Microsoft in Los Angeles, the artist assured fans that his joint project with producer Hit-Boy would be coming very soon and brought on Kanye West and Lil Wayne for performances. Ye made a surprise appearance, performing his verse off of his collaborative track with The Game, “Eazy.” Following his time on the mic, The Game discussed his unwavering friendship with Ye, who was dressed in all-black with a facemask on. Nas and DJ Premier Tease New Collaboration, Unveil Release Date
Nas and DJ Premier have teamed up for a collaboration that’s set to drop on July 15. Although it is unclear whether the joint is a single track or a full project, fans were nonetheless excited when DJ Premier took to Twitter to share a 10-second teaser that showed a closeup of Illmatic’s gold certification and a door labelled “Control Room B” as the new Nas and Premo cut played in the background. The producer simply put “7/15 @Nas” as the caption, confirming that listeners will be gifted the collab this week. The collab arrives shortly after Premier worked with Logic for the Vinyl Days titular track, while Nas dropped the non-album cut “Tomorrow” with John Legend and Florian Picasso. Frank Ocean Releases Episodes 012 and 013 of ‘blonded RADIO’ Alongside New Merch
Frank Ocean has dropped two new episodes of blonded RADIO, along with show merchandise and a special poster in celebration of channel ORANGE’s 10th anniversary. The Apple Music radio show’s Episode 012 is entitled “blonded LSD” and hears the artist discuss psychedelics with Dr. James Fadiman while a 35-minute original score, produced by Ocean himself, plays in the background. Meanwhile, Episode 13, entitled “blonded ENERGY!” is Ocean’s interview with Master Mingtong Gu about “self-realisation and the ancient practice of Qi Gong.” To mark blonded RADIO’s return, the artist dropped four new black and white T-shirts with featuring the classic logo. The Weeknd Postpones Toronto Show Over Telecom Network Outage
The Weeknd had to postpone his Toronto tour kickoff tonight (July 8), the result of a nationwide outage of Canada’s main telecommunications company. The Rogers Telecommunications outage resulted in disrupted internet and phone service all across the country, but does not yet have a timeline for being repaired. “This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight,” Abel Tesfaye wrote in a statement.
