Back in the South, Gucci Mane recruits Lil Baby for the clip to “All Dz Chainz” where the two men try to give Mr. T a run for his money and flaunt a gang of iced out chains around their necks. TMZ is reporting that the “B*tch Please” rapper has called out Viacom for removing his “image and likeness” from the DVD’s in an attempt to get around paying him royalties for the show. As to who still watches the show, we have not clue, but X wants his coin and is putting Viacom on blast for jerking him out of his checks. He says episodes cut for DVDs and streaming were also re-edited to remove his music, and DVD covers removed his image and likeness. We checked, and that tidbit appears to be true. Taking to IG to vent his frustr...

Caribou Announces New Daphni Album Cherry, Shares Song

Caribou’s Dan Snaith has announced a new Daphni album, Cherry, on the heels of releasing the title track last month. The stalwart Canadian producer has also shared a new track called “Cloudy.” Listen to that below and scroll down for the album’s cover art and tracklist. Snaith said of “Cloudy,” “The essence of this one is keeping it aloft—like occasionally nudging a balloon that’s only just heavier than air to keep it afloat. For something so buoyant, I’m surprised how much it bangs in a club.” Before “Cherry,” Snaith’s last Daphni song was 2019’s “Sizzlin’,” a flip of Paradise’s 1981 song “Sizzlin’ Hot.” (It does not feature on the new record.) Last year, Snaith released a Caribou song called “You Can Do It” with a dog-filled video. Joli Mai, the last Daphni album, came out in 2017. ...

How Can Country Music Better Support Black Artists & Fans?

Banning Confederate flags at country music concerts, dedicating nights to Black performers at Nashville’s Lower Broadway bars and instating a basic monthly stipend for Black artists in Nashville — these are some of the Black Music Action Coalition’s suggestions to better support Black talent in the primarily white country music community. While country music festivals including Stagecoach and CMA Fest have specifically banned the use of Confederate flags at their festivals, BMAC urges other country music festivals and events to follow suit. “It’s important that we understand that these symbols that country music has affiliated itself with, they are racist in origin and in current practice,” says BMAC board member Naima Cochrane, who has been a contributing writer to Billboard. “It’s not OK...

Tiësto and Charli XCX Drop Sultry Dance Anthem, “Hot In It”

Tiësto has a new album on the horizon, and his latest single has the feel of one that encapsulates its most anthemic qualities.  With its hypnotic deep house grooves, “Hot In It” is rooted in the formulaic style of a modern Tiësto dance anthem. The new track features a swaggy Charli XCX, whose sultry vocal flair is as potent as ever. XCX’s topline is an unapologetic rallying cry to instill regret in someone who took her for granted: “You won’t see me beggin’ for a second chance / Say I need you ’cause it don’t make sense / Boy, you just lost a ten out of ten.” Scroll to Continue Recommended Articles “I was so honored when I got the call, to be honest, because I feel like we’ve been in each other’s ether for m...
