Black Country, New Road Announce U.S. Tour Dates

Black Country, New Road have announced a September tour of the United States. The band will play a headline show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on September 5 before going on the road with Black Midi. In their announcement, Black Country, New Road noted that they will be playing “a set of completely new music” and nothing from their two studio albums For the First Time and Ants From Up There. Find the band’s tour schedule below. The current members of Black Country, New Road are: May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne, Luke Mark, Tyler Hyde, Lewis Evans, and Georgia Ellery. The U.S. shows will mark Black Country, New Road’s first North American concerts. Jim Seals, Half of Soft Rock Duo Seals and Crofts, Dies at 79

Jim Seals, who helped shaped 1970s soft rock as half of the duo Seals and Crofts, has died. He was 80, Variety reports. He formed the outfit with Dash Crofts in the late 1960s, and the two toured and made breezy pop-rock records together through 1980. Seals and Crofts had their heyday in the 1970s, during which time they became known for easygoing pop-rock songs. They had their biggest hit with 1972’s “Summer Breeze,” which has endured as an example of the era’s soft-rock styles. Seals and Crofts met in their home state of Texas, orbiting each other in local bands. By the mid-1960s, both had relocated to California, and they began working together in a group called the Dawnbreakers. In 1961, Seals also had a minor success when Brenda Lee recorded his song “It’s Never Too Late.” Seals and C...
