Thundercat Announces 2022 North American Tour

Thundercat will embark on an expansive North American tour this summer. He’ll kick things off July 23 in Denver, Colorado, and stop off in Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, and many other cities before wrapping things up at Format Festival in Bentonville, Arkansas on September 25. Thundercat will open for Red Hot Chili Peppers and Khruangbin throughout his tour, as well as play a string of headline festival sets. Find his full schedule below. Janelle Monáe to Play Josephine Baker in New A24 TV Series

Janelle Monáe has been tapped to play jazz icon Josephine Baker in a forthcoming television series from A24, Deadline reports. The show, titled De La Resistance, will center on Baker’s work as a world renowned jazz performer—and also her role as as a spy for the Allies during the French resistance in World War II.  Jennifer Yale, who has worked on series such as See, Outlander, and Underground, is the creator and showrunner of De La Resistance. In addition to landing the lead role, Monáe will produce the series via her own Wondaland Pictures. Monáe’s latest Met Gala look nodded at Josephine Baker; the artist wore a close-cut, beaded Ralph Lauren gown with a fitted hood for the gilded glamour-themed event. FKA twigs has shared the final music video from her latest mixtape Caprisongs. The clip is for “Thank You Song” and it’s directed by Aidan Zamiri. In the video, FKA twigs can be seen riding an empty bus at night before eventually saddling up to another mysterious patron on the vehicle. Check it out below. FKA twigs recently released music videos for a number of songs from Caprisongs. Last month, she shared clips for “Honda” and “Oh My Love,” as well as a video for her Shygirl collaboration “Papi Bones.” Her most recent song to get the music video treatment was “Which Way” with Dystopia.
