Lil Silva and Sampha Share Video for New Song “Backwards”: Watch

Lil Silva has shared a new song in collaboration with Sampha. It’s called “Backwards.” Listen to it below. Both artists shared a statement about the song: “Backwards” is the feeling of alienation and constantly venting in a matrix you find yourself inside, whatever that may be.… Restricted and feeling guilty to move forward, constantly going backwards mentally.… I guess the song is about being in a never ending cycle and the heaviness that can bring on you.… It’s a metaphor for that. The “Backwards” announcement notes to “stay tuned for more from Lil Silva coming soon.” Sampha’s last album, Process, came out five years ago. In 2020, he collaborated with Actress on “Walking Flames.” Content This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Where To? Black People, Racism & The Metaverse

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: PixelsEffect / Getty For years, people of color have been fighting to be heard on Facebook (ahem, Meta)—beyond the ubiquitous hot takes on pop culture and viral video clips. According to groups like Color of Change, the social media site has been punishing users who inform, denounce and call out racism in their corner of Facebook. USA Today reports that the regulation goes as far as account suspension whenever the phrase “white people” appears in a status update—even when describing personal real-life prejudicial scenarios. So if our communities already feel as if they don’t have a place on Facebook, where would they fit in within the metaverse? The growing popularity of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have opened the floodgates for people to take their race-b...
