The Rolling Stones Share First-Ever Live Performance of “Sympathy for the Devil”: Watch

The Rolling Stones’ legendary 1996 concert film Rock and Roll Circus documents the band’s last performance with their original lineup in 1968. Today, they’re sharing a coveted clip that didn’t make it into the movie: The Rolling Stones’ first-ever public performance of “Sympathy for the Devil”. Watch it below. Filmed during that December 12th, 1968 gig, the previously unreleased clip captures the raw energy of The Rolling Stones in their initial configuration with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Ian Stewart, and then bandleader Brian Jones. It’s sourced from a Dolby 4K restoration of the concert film that’s available online for the first time. The band had just dropped Beggars Banquet six days prior to this performance and were clearly riding high on that post-...

Dave Chappelle to Host Saturday Night Live’s Post-Election Episode

Dave Chappelle famously hosted Saturday Night Live’s first episode following Donald Trump’s unexpected victory in 2016. Now, the veteran comedian is set to return to Studio 8H for SNL’s first episode following the 2020 election. The 2016 episode marked Chappelle’s first time hosting SNL, and featured several sketches addressing the results of the election. Most notably, Chappelle and Chris Rock appeared in a skit spoofing an election party attended by horrified liberals. The episode earned Chappelle an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Chappelle’s return to SNL follows news that both Netflix and HBO Max acquired non-exclusive streaming rights to Chappelle’s Show and will begin streaming episodes today, November 1st. Below, revisit the aforementioned sketc...

Busta Rhymes Performs “YUUUU” with Anderson .Paak on Fallon: Watch

Busta Rhymes dropped his star-studded comeback album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God on Friday. The New York rapper celebrated his big release by stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that evening to perform “YUUUU” — and he received some on-stage assistance from none other than Anderson .Paak. Backed by a live band and standing atop a proper stage, the gym rat and veteran rapper led his crew through a synchronized dance in time with the staccato rap song. He, Spliff Star, and .Paak all took turns spitting out their lines while dancing side to side, rolling their arms in the air, and staying light on their toes. Their chemistry was undeniable, and for performing to an empty room, they sure knew how to keep the mood high. Don’t miss the moment where B...

Bruce Springsteen Narrates Joe Biden Ad: “Times Are Harder Than They Ought to Be”

In a bid to solidify his support in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, Joe Biden has called upon Bruce Springsteen to narrate and soundtrack a new campaign spot. Titled “Hometown”, the ad is geared towards working class people, such as those found in Biden’s hometown of Scranton, PA, and is appropriately soundtracked by Springsteen’s own song “My Hometown”. “Scranton, Pennsylvania. Here, success isn’t handed down,” Springsteen begins. “It’s forged in sweat, grit and determination. This is his hometown. In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. But here, and in towns across America, times are harder than they ought to be. Lives are on pause, dreams on hold, futures in doubt.” He goes on to add, “He’s running to change that, to give working people the shot they deserve. An honest living...

Mike Patton: John Carpenter’s Halloween “Made Me Not Want to Trick or Treat When I Was a Kid”

Mike Patton is a man of many musical hats. He’s the celebrated singer of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, and Dead Cross, just to name a few, as well as the co-owner of the acclaimed independent record label Ipecac Recordings. He also knows a good scary movie when he sees one. We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Patton, who told us all about Mr. Bungle’s new album, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo, and how he was navigating the pandemic both professionally and personally. During our conversation, he also took time to remember the late Eddie Van Halen, telling us the guitarist’s “level of musicianship was off the chart.” Knowing Patton was a bit of a film buff, we couldn’t let him go without asking him to recommend a few movies for Halloween night, especially consider...

Concert Review: Puscifer’s Streaming Show Features Eye-Popping Visuals and Crystal-Clear Sound

Setting the Stage: Under normal circumstances, fans would quite possibly be enjoying seeing Puscifer performing tunes off their latest album, Existential Reckoning, at a packed venue. But, of course, 2020 has thrown us countless curveballs — tops being the COVID-19 pandemic canceling all extensive tours and most in-person performances. Fortunately, some bands have become creative and found other ways to perform – whether it be drive-in outdoor concerts (where fans can watch from afar while in or around their car), or via professionally filmed livestreams. On October 30th (the same date that Existential Reckoning was released), Puscifer opted for the latter, offering a show from the middle of the Arizona desert for fans to view on their most convenient electronic device with the purcha...

Jordan Peele to Produce Remake of Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs

It’s barely been a year since Jordan Peele’s last movie, Us, hit theaters and shattered box office expectations. Now, he’s landed on his next project: a remake of Wes Craven’s horror satire The People Under the Stairs. According to Collider, Peele has signed on to produce a new version of the 1991 movie for Universal. Win Rosenfield will join him in the production department via their Monkeypaw Productions house. There’s no word yet if Peele will take the reins as the director for the remake or help write the script, but fingers crossed. The original version of The People Under the Stairs followed a young boy and two adult thieves as they break into a house to steal a rare coin collection, but wind up getting trapped inside. That’s when they have to face the Robesons, the bizarre coup...

Chappelle’s Show Coming to Netflix

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights to Dave Chappelle’s brilliant early aughts sketch comedy series Chappelle’s Show. The show’s full three-season, 28-episode run will be available on the streaming platform beginning November 1st. Chappelle’s Show famously aired for three seasons between 2003 and 2006 on Comedy Central, and is widely considered to be one of the best comedies of its time. However, mid-way through the show’s third season, Chappelle abruptly walked away. He later stated that he was “burned out” from the intensive shooting schedule, and also felt the show’s popularity took away from his standup career (he could only take hearing an audience member yell “I’m Rick James, bitch!” so many times.) He then embarked on a prolonged hiatus, during which he only gav...

Grab a Napkin (or a Hose) the McRib is Back

America’s most perplexing fast food phenomenon has returned: For the first time in eight years, the McDonald’s McRib sandwich will be available nationwide beginning December 2nd. The McRib first appeared in 1982, and has achieved a cult following based as much on its limited availability as its (extremely dubious) taste. It was last widely attainable in 2012, but as the most McRabid McRib fans know, the sandwich actually comes out every year. But it’s purposefully difficult to find, and the Golden Arches have even rolled out a McRib locator app to encourage road trips and beam advertisements directly to your phone. Now, as CNBC reports, it will be coming to 10,000 of Mickey D’s 14,000 stores. So what’s the big deal? The patty is made of pork — or at least, a product that resembles pork in ...

Chappelle’s Show, Nathan For You, Reno 911!, and Key & Peele Coming to HBO Max

Several of Comedy Central’s premiere titles — including Chappelle’s Show, Nathan For You, Reno 911!, and Key & Peele — are coming to HBO Max starting November 1st. These series will be streaming on WarnerMedia’s premium streaming services as part of an ongoing licensing deal forged with Comedy Central’s parent company ViacomCBS. The deal also gives HBO Max access to the entire South Park library as well as Inside Amy Schumer. It’s worth noting that all of these titles will be non-exclusive to HBO Max, which explains why Chappelle’s Show is also coming to Netflix starting November 1st. These titles are also available on ViacomCBS’s own streaming platform, CBS All Access, which will be rebranded as Paramount+ in 2021. According to The Hollywood Reporter, at some point ViacomCBS inte...

Ministry Unveil (Everyday Is) Halloween – The Lost Mixes EP: Stream

Ministry have unearthed two unheard mixes of their goth classic “(Everyday Is) Halloween” and two previously unreleased early tracks just in time for October 31st. The (Everyday Is) Halloween – The Lost Mixes EP is available now on digital platforms with a 12″ vinyl release slated for November 20th. The titular “(Everyday Is) Halloween” is perhaps Ministry’s most beloved song from their early, pre-heavy era. The band’s output on Wax Trax Records skewed more toward gothic dance rock, and “Halloween” served as the ultimate anthem for that scene with its proud declaration of self-acceptance. Ministry didn’t perform the song for more than 30 years, until they were joined onstage in Los Angeles by Dave Navarro for an acoustic version in December 2018. They’ve since played the tune a handful of ...

The beloved Looney Tunes spin-off has been revived with a two-season, straight-to-series order of Tiny Toons Looniversity. The new cartoon is set to air on both Cartoon Network and HBO Max, though exactly how WarnerMedia plans to roll out the episodes across the platforms isn’t yet clear. What is known, however, is that Steven Spielberg is back to produce through his Amblin Television. Erin Gibson of the Throwing Shade podcast is on as showrunner, in addition to co-executive producing with Nat Cash (Adventure Time). Amblin’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are also on as executive producers. As the name implies, the show will be set in Acme Looniveristy, the institution whe...
