Fiona Prine Blasts Trump’s COVID-19 Comments: “My Husband Died on His Watch”

As of today, nearly 210,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 and millions more are still unsure about the longterm repercussions the novel virus will have on their bodies. Meanwhile, the economy has cratered and tens of millions of Americans are out of work. The live music and film industries are largely shut down, and sports teams are playing inside of empty stadiums. And, tragically, there’s no end to the pandemic in sight. Despite this, Trump has routinely bragged about his administration’s response to the virus, going as far to give himself an “A+” letter grade. Asked if there was any area he felt he failed at, Trump identified only one — public relations — but he blamed the “fake news” for that. “I have fake news, you know, I can’t — you can’t convince them of anything, they’re a ...

The metalcore act delivered the news via its social media pages on Wednesday (September 30th), promising that the group “will not disappear.” Varkatzas was Atreyu’s vocalist since the band formed in 1998 in Anaheim, California. His passionate screams were a staple of the band’s metalcore style. In fact, in 2018, Varkatzas claimed Atreyu had invented metalcore, comments that raised some eyebrows in the scene. The band issued a statement on social media announcing the split, which appears to be mutually amicable, though it doesn’t specify any definite reason for Varkatzas’ exit: “We have been a band for over 20 years now. Lived our dreams together as friends and as...

Oscar Isaac to Star as Francis Ford Coppola in Francis and the Godfather

Oscar Isaac will star as Francis Ford Coppola in Francis and the Godfather, a new feature film about the making of — you guessed it — The Godfather. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Barry Levinson will direct and Jake Gyllenhaal will play legendary Paramount head Robert Evans. The Godfather had a famously troubled production history. Evans picked up the rights to Mario Puzo’s book The Godfather for a pittance after learning that Puzo was up to his eyeballs in gambling debt. As he explained in his autobiography The Kid Stays in the Picture, he then offered the director’s chair to half of Hollywood before landing on Coppola. Personally, Coppola didn’t want anything to do with the “sleazy” story, but wouldn’t you know it, he was also deeply in debt. Things didn’t impr...

Pro Era member Chuck Strangers had a busy 2018 thanks to the rollout cycle for his debut solo album, Consumers Park. This is the first official single Strangers has released through his own label, Sounds of Beverly, which he announced earlier this year. A press release suggests there’s more to come from Strangers soon, be it other solo tracks of collaborative material with other artists. The latter wouldn’t come as a surprise considering what a pivotal role he’s played in other artists’ careers over the years. In a statement, Strangers said he felt inspired to write “Regular Season” in part due to the natural evolution that comes with grow...
