Nike Reveals Freddy Krueger Sneakers For This Halloween

One, two, Nike’s coming for you. Three, four, better check your stores. As Bloody Disgusting reports, the sneaker conglomerate is heading to Elm Street for the Halloween season as they’ve just unveiled a new pair of Air Max 95s inspired by Freddy Krueger. As you can see below, the sneaks are a mix of “Velvet Brown”, “University Red”, and “Team Red”, three colors lifted straight from the dream demon’s iconic sweater. There are also a few quirks to the design, including bloody Swooshes on the heels. Not gonna lie, Nike could have leaned a little harder into the red and green, but we dig the shoes nonetheless. The mesh really adds to the overall sweater aesthetic, and the little red bubbles on the soles just demand to be squeezed. Look for the sneakers to drop sometime in October — hopefully ...

Jensen Ackles Teases More Supernatural: “I Do Feel Like This Isn’t the Long Goodbye”

Supernatural comes to an end on The CW this November. However, as fans have learned through 15 years and 15 seasons of the sci-fi horror series, nothing is ever really over. That appears to be the mindset of its leading star Jensen Ackles. In a recent appearance on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, Ackles suggested that the upcoming series finale isn’t exactly the end of the road for the Winchester brothers. In fact, he even used that very metaphor. “I’ve always thought that there was a possibility of five years down the road, getting the call and saying, ‘Hey, let’s do a little short-order action for a streaming network and bring it back for six episodes,’” Ackles explained Rosenbaum. He continued, seemingly doubling down on the notion, adding: “I do feel like this isn’t the long...

Academy Awards Reveal New Diversity Requirements for Best Picture Contenders

Nearly five years ago, April Reign created the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag to call the film industry out on their blatant lack of representation onscreen and off. Today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed its latest steps towards diversifying its nominees pool: new representation and inclusion standards for Oscars eligibility in the Best Picture category, the most prestigious award at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. As part of its Academy Aperture 2025 initiative, Academy governors DeVon Franklin and Jim Gianopulos headed a task force “to encourage equitable representation on and off screen in order to better reflect the diversity of the movie-going audience.” What they’ve designed with that group are four different standards for a Best Picture c...

Travis Scott’s McDonald’s-Themed Merch Includes a Chicken McNugget Body Pillow

Travis Scott’s McDonald’s value meal may have left much to be desired, but the same cannot be said for the companion merch capsule. Scott is offering 60 (!) different pieces of McDonald’s themed memorabilia, including custom t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. The real good stuff, however, can be found toward the bottom of the page; there’s two types of McDonald’s throw rugs, a vintage lunch box and lunch tray, a burger tie, and a Happy Meal-inspired clutch. But the true star of the show is the 36″ body pillow made to look like a giant chicken McNugget. The merch retails between $25 and $300 and begins shipping in four to six weeks. As for Scott’s McDonald’s value meal, that’s available at select locations from now through October 8th. The $5.79 menu item includes a quarter pounder with cheese an...

Rush’s Geddy Lee Confirms He’s Alive After Trending on Twitter

The year 2020 has been so rough that anytime a celebrity trends on Twitter, people assume the worst. So, when Geddy Lee’s name went viral over the past 24 hours, some fans assumed something tragic had happened to the Rush legend. Thankfully, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer reports that he is alive and well. Rush’s official Twitter account had to assure fans that the beloved prog-rock icon is okay, issuing a statement from Lee that read, “Even I gulped when I saw I was trending on Twitter, but I asked my dogs and apparently I’m a bit boring but otherwise fine.” As for why Geddy Lee was trending in the first place, all signs point to a cardboard cutout of the singer-bassist placed in the stands behind home plate at Toronto Blue Jays games this season. The team has been playing home games i...
