A revival of the beloved Malcolm in the Middle TV series is officially in the works over at Disney+.Variety reports that the series will return with original creator Linwood Boomer, with Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek all reprising their roles as the Wilkerson family — son Malcolm, father Hal and mother Lois, respectively. A Barbie 2 sequel is reportedly in the works from director Greta Gerwig and co-writer Noah Baumbach.Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that a sequel to the highly-successful film is currently in its "early stages," with Gerwig and Baumbach settling on a story that they can discuss with Warner Bros. Another source claims that the two will be "passing [the script] back and forth as they typically do" in order to get work started. Tangled has become the latest Disney film to receive a live-action rendition. Set to be in progress at the studio, Disney has confirmed that filmmaker Michael Gracey, who also directed The Greatest Showman, is leading the live-action with a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Robinson has been credited for Netflix's campy dark comedy Do Revenge as well as Thor: Love and Thunder and the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot. Currently under development at NBCUniversal, the official logline for the new series reads, "Following a devastating hurricane, a rag tag high school football team and their damaged, interim coach make an unlikely bid for a Texas High School State Championship becoming a beacon of light for their town." The group has signed a production deal with Sony Pictures and the trio is set to release an original project together to kick off the partnership.Under Billy17, the trio have been developing a film titled Burnt.
