Tom Holland to Star in New Legal Thriller ‘The Partner’

Tom Holland is suiting up once again, but this time, it is to play a lawyer for the upcoming Universal Pictures adaptation of John Grisham's novel The Partner. The film, of the same name, is expected to be a legal thriller which follows a junior partner at a law firm, played by Holland, who steals $90 million USD from a wealthy client and flees to Brazil after faking his own death. Holland will also serve as a producer on the film, which is written by Graham Moore. This is not the first time Grisham's novels have been adapted to film. Jacob Elordi is reportedly in negotiations for Ridley Scott's upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars. After news of Paul Mescal reuniting with Scott for another film following Gladiator II, it seems like there is a scheduling issue that will now see Mescal replaced by Elordi.Originally, Mescal was slated to star in the thriller that is about a catastrophic flu virus that ends up wiping out nearly all of humanity. An anime based on Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is currently in the works, with the series set for a 2027 release.
