Ice Cube never backs down from a fight and his apparent New Year’s resolution to find ways to bring back the fourth installment of his Friday film will continue in 2023. In a run-in with TMZ, Ice Cube caught up with the publication outside of Dash Radio to talk about his commitment to releasing a fourth film in the Friday franchise. While he promises that he is not stepping back on his push to make the film, he also stated that he will not be taking legal action against Warner Bros. Any upcoming seasons of Netflix‘s hit original series Wednesday could be heading to Amazon‘s Prime Video instead. According to reports, the possibility of Wednesday’s move to the Amazon streaming service stems from Amazon and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s (MGM) — who owns the rights to The Addams Family, of which Wednesday is taken from — $8.5 billion USD merger in early 2022. Nothing has been confirmed as of writing, however, and Amazon previously stated that it will probably not make all of the MGM content Prime Video exclusives. Although a second season has not been greenlit by Netflix yet, producers are supposedly already on the move, scouting new filming locations and hiring new writers for a followup. After catapulting past the $1 billion USD mark in just 14 days, the James Cameron-directed Avatar: The Way of Water is quickly joining the ranks as one of highest grossing films of all time. After bringing in $152.8 million USD in the Chinese market, Avatar: The Way of Water has grossed a total of $1.37 billion USD in its 18 days in theatres. This now puts the Avatar sequel in the 14th spot, just under Avengers: Age of Ultron. Avatar: The Way of Water is just 91 million USD behind Top Gun: Maverick‘s spot at 11. There are currently on five films that have reached the $2 billion USD mark which is how much James Cameron indicated is required to break even. Becoming a cult favorite in the ’90s with its sci-fi Western themes, Trigun, regarded by some as one of the greatest animes of all time, is now gearing up for the release of its reboot. Titled “TRIGUN STAMPEDE,” the anime is being animated by studio Orange and will be aired on TV Tokyo next month. Pioneer and television icon Barbara Walters has died at the age of 93. With over fifty years of experience in broadcast — bringing the world some of the most iconic interviews — Walters was the first female U.S. network news anchor. Setting a new standard in an industry largely made up of men in the ’70s, Walters rose to stardom from her celebrated interviews and quickly became a household name — her 12 Emmy awards are a testament to that. From her work at NBC, and four decades at ABC, Walters also filled the role of co-host of 20/20 before launching The View. Walters’ publicist Cindi Berger’s statement reads, “She lived her life with no regrets. George R.R. Martin has stated that the current shakeups over at HBO Max are changing the course of the Game of Thrones franchise. In a recent blog post, the author explained that aside from House of the Dragon, “some [spinoffs] are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development.
