Kojima Productions and Hammerstone Studios are developing and producing a movie adaptation of Hideo Kojima‘s 2019 video game, Death Stranding. The Japanese video game designer and director confirmed the news in a statement, “I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios. After a six-year departure from the company, Chris Metzen will be returning to work for Blizzard Entertainment as the creative advisor for the World of Warcraft franchise. Before his retirement in 2016, Metzen had been with Blizzard for more than 20 years where he served as senior vice president of lore and franchise development. Amazon Studios has ordered a live-action series of the celebrated video game series, God of War. According to reports, the adaptation will be based on the 2018 game and will follow Kratos’ supposed attempt in “retirement” in Midgar. When his wife dies, however, he and his estranged son, Atreus, go on a journey to the highest peak in order to spread her ashes. “Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new gods and monsters for the fate of the world,” Variety adds. Building up anticipation for his next film, Oppenheimer, director Christopher Nolan has been discussing the lengths he has gone to make the biopic about the life of famed nuclear scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer. During a recent interview with TotalFilm magazine, Nolan revealed that he recreated a nuclear test without the help of “computer graphics.” Although it is pretty certain that the director did not create an atomic bomb for a scene, Nolan was quite careful about what he shared. The new round of dates is set to kick off on February 5, 2023 in Chicago’s United Center and will see him perform in Cincinnati, Colombus, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Kansas City, Houston, Austin, Dallas and Nashville before closing it out in Charlotte on February 18.
