Peacock has announced that LeBron James‘ new biopic Shooting Stars will debut as part of its 2023 releases alongside Will Packer‘s Praise This, and a modern reimagination of John Woo‘s The Killer. Originally announced in 2018, the film is based on the 2009 Shooting Stars book that James co-wrote with Buzz Bissinger, which follows Lebron James’ thrilling high school days with the Fab 5 as they overcome personal challenges on the road to a national championship title. The film is co-produced by a host of Acadamy Award nominees including Rachel Winter (Dallas Buyers Club) and Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street) as well as SpringHill Company (Space Jam 2). Kid Cudi is hyping up his Entergalactic series on Netflix with a teaser of its characters. The artist took to Instagram to share a cropped poster of two characters against a purple-pink background similar to that of the show’s first poster. No details were revealed by Cudi and he instead wrote in the caption, “Wanted to introduce you to a couple friends of mine #Entergalactic,” tagging Netflix and Kenya Barris who serves as the co-executive producer alongside Cudi. As the release date for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness approaches, Marvel‘s head honcho Kevin Feige has revealed additional information on Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez character. America Chavez, who is a teenager with a unique power that allows her to open star-portal doorways to reach alternate dimensions, will be introduced into the MCU in the upcoming film. The character was first introduced in December 2020 and has since become a prominent member of the storyline. John Woo‘s English remake of his 1989 film The Killer is heading to Peacock. The upcoming adaptation is being produced in collaboration with Universal Pictures and is scheduled for a 2023 release. A cast is yet to be announced but is expected follow a similar storyline to Woo’s original Hong Kong action thriller, which saw Chow Yun-fat as Ah Jong, an assassin who accidentally damages the vision of singer Jennie, portrayed by Sally Yeh, during a shootout of what he initially wanted to be his last job. Rumors of a second season for Moon Knight took Twitter by storm after an eagle-eyed fan spotted a very important change to a promotional tweet made by Marvel. Twitter user kellie_dixon shared two screenshots of the Marvel Studios tweets promoting the upcoming sixth episode of Moon Knight, pointing out that Marvel changed the description from “the epic series finale” to “the epic season finale” — possibly signalling that viewers will get a second season of the Oscar Isaac-led show similar to Loki. Discovery announced that it would adapt the beloved Wonder Twins comic into a live-action DC Comics film, the studio has put a halt on productions, reportedly canceling the project. That Hashtag Show recently reported that the crew was informed last week that the live-action project will be scrapped, even before production has begun.
