‘Sherlock’ Creators Say Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman Aren’t Interested in Fifth Season

When asked if he’d return for another season of the BBC‘s Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch replied last year that he’d “never say never,” but new comments from the show’s creators now suggest that the actor isn’t so interested in returning to the franchise anymore. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has banned Will Smith from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years, in consequence of his slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage during this year’s ceremony. “The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement on Friday.
