The official first trailer for Weird Al Yankovic‘s new biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story has been released. Daniel Radcliffe has been cast as the titular comedian and musician. Viola Davis is now expected to reprise her role as Amanda Waller in a new Peacemaker and Suicide Squad spin-off series on HBO Max. According to a new report from Variety, the actress is now tied to a new project that is based around her character as the helm of Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad. The project will pick up after Davis’ appearance at the end of John Cena’s Peacemaker, where her daughter Adebayo “(Danielle Brooks) exposed her mother’s diabolical work with the band of misfits to the public. Variety reported Paramount’s Q1 earnings call which heard CEO Bob Bakish state, “Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we’re working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+.” The original MTV Jackass series was a major hit and since then, has been launched into several spinoff series. Peacock has announced that LeBron James‘ new biopic Shooting Stars will debut as part of its 2023 releases alongside Will Packer‘s Praise This, and a modern reimagination of John Woo‘s The Killer. Originally announced in 2018, the film is based on the 2009 Shooting Stars book that James co-wrote with Buzz Bissinger, which follows Lebron James’ thrilling high school days with the Fab 5 as they overcome personal challenges on the road to a national championship title. America Chavez, who is a teenager with a unique power that allows her to open star-portal doorways to reach alternate dimensions, will be introduced into the MCU in the upcoming film. John Woo‘s English remake of his 1989 film The Killer is heading to Peacock. The upcoming adaptation is being produced in collaboration with Universal Pictures and is scheduled for a 2023 release.
