Marvel Studios has dropped the newest trailer for Sam Raimi‘s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Premiering during Super Bowl LVI, the two-minute visual sees Doctor Strange, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, getting arrested and facing a number of figures in an almost court-like setting. The voice of a man, who many have presumed is Patrick Stewart reprising his role as X-Men staple Professor X, then states that Doctor Strange should probably know the truth. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch continues to deal with the fallout from the events of WandaVision, telling Doctor Strange, “You break the rules and become a hero. Netflix Original Marvel shows such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher are officially leaving Netflix. As confirmed by Engadget, the shows will be departing Netflix on March 1 and it has not been confirmed if the series will make its way on to Disney+. Netflix and Marvel effectively ended their partnership in 2019 when the last few titles were, much to viewers’ dismay, cancelled to make way for programs on the Disney+ platform. With the cancellation of the Netflix Originals Marvel titles, Marvel and Disney teamed up for Disney+ shows such as WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Hawkeye and What If…?. Universal Pictures has dropped off the official trailer for Jordan Peele‘s Nope, the actor-turned-director’s upcoming third feature film following Get Out and Us. The visual sees Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer running a Hollywood horse training ranch, while Steven Yeun appears to lead a rodeo under a dark, haunted cloud. Though plot details largely remain under wraps, it is known that Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott also star in the film. Nope, which is written, produced and directed by Peele, was shot on Kodak film by Hoyte van Hoytema and will be released in a 65mm IMAX format. Teasing its upcoming releases, DC Films has now delivered new footage from The Batman, The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Black Adam. The new “The World Needs Heroes” teaser runs through the upcoming titles that will serve to add to the DC Extended Universe. Aside from offering another look at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam, the one-minute clip also features a new look a slew of characters set to make their debut. While Alexa can already follow commands with simple vocal instruction, the video imagines that Alexa can actually read minds. As the married couple goes about their daily routine, the device increasingly asserts itself into their interactions. Netflix is making a documentary about Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan, a married couple who was arrested this week for allegedly conspiring to launder around $4.5 billion USD in Bitcoin. The couple was accused of getting the crypto from the 2016 Bitfinex hack, one of the largest attacks in Bitcoin’s history. The government has since recovered $3.6 billion. Scheduled to release in 2022, Chris Smith, who was behind Tiger King and the Fyre Festival documentary FYRE, will direct and executive produce. Amazon Studios is working on a live-action Blade Runner series, according to Deadline. Ridley Scott, the original director of the 1982 film, will executive produce the series, which is titled Blade Runner 2099. The series will arrive as a follow-up to the 2017 feature film sequel Blade Runner 2049, which was helmed by Denis Villeneuve. The project is currently in priority development at Amazon, and the company is fast-tracking scripts and working on solidifying production dates. Scott is in talks to direct once the series moves forward, according to sources via Deadline. Amazon has revealed the official first look images of its upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series, an adaptation from J.R.R. Tolkien‘s mythical world. The images were released on Vanity Fair as a part of the first-look feature that gives fans a glimpse of Middle-Earth. The series is set to take place in the Second Age of Middle-Earth, before the War of the Ring and the appearance of Frodo and Bilbo. Zack Snyder has now announced the full cast list for his upcoming Netflix sci-fi project Rebel Moon. Announcing the news over on Twitter, the Army of the Dead director welcomed Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher to the cast list, which also includes the previously-announced Sofia Boutella.
