Amazon is reportedly adapting Hazelight Studios‘ recent hit It Takes Two into a film and Dwayne Johnson is potentially involved in the cast. Idris Elba is jumping back into TV with his new starring role in Apple TV+‘s Hijack. The series is a seven-part drama that follows the journey of a hijacked plane on its way to London. In the seven-hour flight, Elba plays negotiator Sam Nelson who utilizes his experiences in the business world to attempt to save the passengers on board. The series is written by Lupin writer George Kay and is directed by Jim Field Smith. Smith also executive produced the series with Elba. While Bright 2 was confirmed in 2018 with an orc audition tape, Bloomberg’s Lucas Shaw revealed that Netflix has “abandoned plans to make a sequel to Bright,” but disclosed that it was not related to recent slap incident at the Oscars. As far as the upcoming National Geographic Pole to Pole docu-series with Smith, that will be released but filming has been hit with delays after the incident.
