Sanrio is tugging at the nostalgic heartstrings with the help of Netflix. The streaming giant is expanding its Japanese animation repertoire with a new My Melody & Kuromi stop-motion series. Tom Holland is suiting up once again, but this time, it is to play a lawyer for the upcoming Universal Pictures adaptation of John Grisham's novel The Partner. The film, of the same name, is expected to be a legal thriller which follows a junior partner at a law firm, played by Holland, who steals $90 million USD from a wealthy client and flees to Brazil after faking his own death. Jacob Elordi is reportedly in negotiations for Ridley Scott's upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars. After news of Paul Mescal reuniting with Scott for another film following Gladiator II, it seems like there is a scheduling issue that will now see Mescal replaced by Elordi.Originally, Mescal was slated to star in the thriller that is about a catastrophic flu virus that ends up wiping out nearly all of humanity. DC Studios' James Gunn recently said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he has "contemplated" bringing Robert Pattinson's Batman to his new DC Universe. With the release of animated series Creature Commandos, Gunn's DC Universe officially began last month. At this time, Pattinson's Batman exists outside the DCU in Elseworld but Gunn states that he often thinks about bringing the character into his DCU. He said, "I've contemplated it, yeah. Following the recent news that The Batman 2 will be delayed until 2027, director Matt Reeves spoke to Deadline on the Golden Globes red carpet that fans need not worry and filming will begin this year.
