Listen up, everyone. I’ve found the perfect bag. Not only is it ideal for daily life—it fits your wallet, a mask, hand sanitiser and even a bit of makeup—but it’s also great for evenings out. Don’t believe me? Well, the good news is I’ve collected the evidence to prove how versatile and chic this bag actually is. But first, let me give you the details. It’s a black, leather, crescent-shaped handbag with a thick strap. It’s smooth and pretty featureless, other than a couple of silver belt studs and a well-hidden zip. There’s no denying that it bears more than a resemblance to The Row‘s Banana Bag, but it comes at a much more affordable price point. So far, I’ve spotted minimalist queens Marisa Martins and Alexis Foreman wearing t...
It’s hard to remember a time when everything you mused, liked and—let’s face it—ate, wasn’t documented on social media. And the effects have certainly been felt where our wardrobes are concerned. For many, posing for an outfit photograph has become part of their daily routines. Some have carved impressive careers from doing so, but at what cost? As it turns out, a financial one. Our obsession with showcasing our clothes has developed into a culture of excess, where many would choose buy new than be seen in the same dress for a second or third time. Don’t take our word for it—just look at the facts. Carrying out a study in 18,000 households across 20 countries, Movinga asked participants to estimate the percentage of unworn clothes they have in their wardrobes. On av...

If you spent a day studying our Slack messages, reading our story pitches, or as a fly on the wall in one of our (virtual) meetings, you’d quickly realise that we Who What Wear editors talk about Zara a lot. Given that you’re taking the time to read this, perhaps you do too. And at the start of each season, our Zara discussions really ramp up as the new arrivals start coming in hot. It’s already September, and you know what that means: Zara’s assortment of coats, boots, and sweaters to cosy up in are multiplying on a daily basis. And since we consider ourselves to be Zara experts, we thought you might be interested to hear which pieces we have our eyes on for autumn. It wasn’t easy, but we narrowed it down to items that are sure to bring yo...
Second-hand shopping has never been more popular, and vintage jeans are one of the biggest categories people are searching for. According to the Business of Fashion, “Before the pandemic hit, the resale market was on track to double from $24 billion in 2019 to $51 billion by 2024. … This growth may very well accelerate.” Overall, retro items are clearly in demand, but there’s something about denim that attracts people even more. It shouldn’t be surprising. This year is all about denim, and the most in-demand styles are based around vintage silhouettes. But it’s more than that. “Our category of vintage jeans are significantly increasing +278% of sales and +254% of deposits compared to last year,” says Vestiaire Collective. You D...
Readers, listen up. H&M’s been at it again. Yep, the high-street megastore has created a whole new Studio line, and this time, it’s for autumn/winter 2021. Much like the previous collections, this has a more directional approach than the main line’s items. This season’s inspiration seems to come from ’80s power dressing, so expect oversized shoulders, maximalist suiting and bold, bright colours. Oranges, blues and browns are the predominant hues throughout, but there are flashes of white, too. Accessories are similarly bold, with oversized sunglasses, statement earrings and chunky diamanté necklaces featuring prominently. There are also hints of a cool après-ski vibe thanks to the stirrup leggings and wrap-around sunnies. Ultimately though, these are pieces you’ll most likely...

Readers, listen up, because H&M’s been at it again. Yep, that’s right the high-street mega store has created a whole new Studio line and this time it’s for Autumn/winter 2021. I don’t want to sound like a fashion cliché, but I think I’ve fallen in love with a jumper. To be fair, the pullover in question has all the attributes I’m looking for: It’s striped, loose-fitting and, crucially, looks way more expensive than it is. The piece I’m referring to comes from Arket and costs £69. The brand has reissued this jumper after similar versions sold out earlier in the year, and I (along with the rest of the Who What Wear team) have been waiting for this new drop ever since. It’s not really surprising that we’re all falling over ourselves for this high-street item considering it is very similar to the incredibly expensive Celine version, so this feels like a real bargain. This time, there are two ve...
Despite the fact that we’re about to experience a heatwave in September, I’m only thinking about autumn and what to wear this coming season. Give me knitwear, boots and denim over summer dresses any day. I decided to hit up some of the coolest women on Instagram I could think of, whose style I often look to for inspiration. They’re mostly quite minimalist dresses but with a twist, which is how I like it. Not only did these five women all give me great outfit ideas, they picked some interesting pieces too, some which I would never have thought of. In the shopping picks below you’ll find gorgeous jewellery that are sure to be life-time proofed as well as classic handbags that will be great for any occasion. But it’s not just designer wares you’l...
We were first introduced to Peachy Den when the brand’s Kernel jumpsuit went viral. The ultraflattering, body-sculpting outfit filled our timelines on TikTok and Instagram with fashion enthusiasts of all sizes looking incredible in the cheeky all-in-one look. Peachy Den has quickly accumulated a fan following — including stars like Bella Hadid, Olivia Rodrigo, and Maya Jama — and now the London-based brand is hosting its very first pop-up in Soho for the autumn/winter 2021 season. Running from Saturday, 11 Sept., to Monday, 11 Oct., the Peachy Den pop-up will be hosted at 27 Peter Street in Soho, W1F 0AJ, and open to shoppers from 11 a.m. “We will be stocking exclusive limited-edition versions of our bestselling Kernel jumpsuit in velvet,” founder Isabella Weatherby said ...
I won’t be the first person to say this, but time has taken on a strange quality over the last 12 months. It was only 5 months ago that I tried on H&M’s show-stopping Simone Rocha collaboration (which, unsurprisingly, went on to be a sellout success), but it’s fair to say that it feels like a lifetime ago. So, I couldn’t quite believe it when I found out that the high street brand’s next big designer collab was imminent and, naturally, I had to be the first to get a sneak peek. Oh hello, H&M x Toga Archives. As per usual H&M has opted for a brand that will, most likely, not be known by the masses, but is sure to get fashion-lovers’ hearts racing and is sure to deliver&...
