Burberry Is Donating Leftover Fabrics to Fashion Students Across the Country

Burberry continues its commitment to sustainable practices and young creatives by launching ReBurberry Fabric in partnership with the British Fashion Council (BFC). The initiative plans to donate leftover Burberry fabrics to fashion students across the country who need a bit of extra help after a rough year. ReBurberry Fabric is a part of the BFC’s Positive Fashion and Colleges Council initiative, with help from fashion journalists Charlie Porter and Sarah Mower. Fabric donations will be facilitated by the BFC with plans to be made available to the remainder of the fashion industry — in an effort to inspire other brands and colleges to support future talent in sustainable ways. “One of the BFC’s priorities is to encourage the industry to move towards a circular fashion ec...

If There’s One Accessory Trend You Try This Winter, Make It This One

To steal the popular adage from Miranda Priestly, chain detailing doesn’t seem like the most groundbreaking concept when it comes to accessory trends. After all, chains have been used as functional straps on handbags for several decades. But when it comes to the chain embellishments of 2020, we have to say, they are definitely something to write home about. This season, the humble chain detail has been given an upgrade, and yes we mean that quite literally. Supersized and placed on shoes, jewellery and clothing, chains have gone from simply being a practical addition on an accessory to becoming a statement-making detail in and of themselves.  From JW Anderson to Bottega Veneta, oversize chains appeared across the runway for A/W 2020—placed atop loafers, ...

We’ve Discussed It and These Other 6 Brands Are Just As Good As Zara

Zara needs absolutely no introduction that’s for sure. From Instagram accounts honoring a trending Zara coat or spotty dress to being the Duchess of Cambridge‘s go-to for classic staples, Zara can do no wrong. But did you know that the high-street mega brand also owns a load of other different, but just as great, high-street labels? It might have passed you by as each of the sister brands has its own identity—distinctly different from the original, so you might not even realise they’re part of the same group. There’s Massimo Dutti, which is a more grown-up sort of label, offering chic separates such as cashmere cardigans and leather shirts. Uterqüe is the fashion-forward brand, which is the place to find brightly-coloured shirts and bol...

The Resale Report: A Smart Shopping Guide on Vintage Investments

To put it simply it’s all about It bags, It bags and more It bags. Plus the occasional Chanel earring thrown in for good measure. Everyone I spoke to from Lyst to sellers over at Depop told me that people were after vintage bags from the major designers.  Depop seller, basementsix revealed they’d sold three vintage nova check Burberry bags in the last two weeks. But vintage nylon Prada shoulder bags were still proving popular. This was a similar theme elsewhere with Lyst also finding that searches were spiking for the classic Prada ’90s tote, as did Vestiaire Collective.  Another extremely popular bag with increasing demand is Louis Vuitton’s pochette monogram bag, seeing purchases across Vestiaire Collective, Open for Vintage, and Depo...

This Season’s Biggest Top Trend Comes Rosie Huntington-Whiteley–Approved

Here at Who What Wear, we fancy ourselves as somewhat experts when it comes to spotting microtrends. The kind of looks that are distinguished by something as small as the texture of a fabric or the placement of a button. In the past, we’ve waxed poetic on microtrends ranging from countryside prints to statement embroidered cardigans, though this winter there seems to be a new, subtler trend on the block. From designer to high-street, sweetheart neckline knits are gaining quite the fashionable fanbase right now with influencers across the globe embracing the flattering silhouette. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of detail but manages to instantly elevate a winter knit, bringing a modern, contemporary element to the item.  You Deserve to Make Money ...

32 Sustainable Christmas Gifts Every Fashion Lover Will Appreciate

In times past, putting together a ‘sustainable gift guide’ was a bit of a slog. It was honestly pretty difficult to find items that were as chic as they were ethical. And don’t even try to factor in affordability in that too—anything that was worth having always meant parting with a lot of cash. Good news, then, as all the below 32 items I’ve found are ideal for the fashion-lover and they just so happen to be sustainable as well. Happily, most of the big online retailers have sustainable sections, making it much easier to find the best stuff around. But, if you’re looking for smaller UK-based brands, I’ve got those in there too. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. The Winter Dress That French Girls Have Loved Forever

It wasn’t until I bought a Nanushka jumper dress last year that I realised how incredibly chic they were. I don’t know what was putting me off. It’s Official: This Is the Chicest Colour You Can Wear This Winter

If there’s one word that summarised 2019’s style aesthetic, it would have to be beige. Instagram went wild for the shade, with feeds filling up with earthy-hued snapshots. Meanwhile at fashion week, the pavements were strewn with stripped-back ensembles in 50 shades of, you guessed it, beige. Now, I’m going to sound very “fashion” right now, but 2020 has seen a shift in the colour-trend stakes, and we’re seeing a new hue come to the fore. This autumn, it’s all about pale beige. (To quote The Devil Wears Prada, “It’s a tough call. They’re so different.”) The trick is to apply the same principles as you did to last year’s deeper shades of beige. Head-to-toe is the way to go. WeR...
