Disney+ has ordered a limited sequel series to Tim Allen’s Santa Clause film trilogy. Allen himself will reprise his role as Scott Calvin in the forthcoming project, which is slated to go into production this spring. Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free are teaming up with South Park co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker to produce a comedy film for Paramount Pictures. Kendrick Lamar is teaming up with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker for a new live-action comedy. The untitled feature film is being produced by Lamar and Dave Free under their media company pgLang. Stone and Parker are on board as co-producers, and Paramount Pictures will handle the film’s theatrical and home distribution. Despite Robert Pattinson’s bone-chilling stare and Gotham City’s perennially dark atmosphere, don’t expect the forthcoming Batman adaptation to get too NSFW. Matt Reeves’ The Batman has earned a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association after predictions that it would end up rated R. Variety points out the MPA rated The Batman PG-13 for “strong violent and disturbing content, drug content, strong language, and some suggestive material.” Sources close to the film say that its foul language is minimal, and the violent scenes tend to focus more on things like car crashes and explosions. Evan Rachel Wood Documentary Exploring Marilyn Manson Abuse Allegations Added to Sundance
Phoenix Rising, a new documentary about Evan Rachel Wood that chronicles the abuse allegations leveled against Marilyn Manson, has been added to the lineup of Sundance Film Festival 2022. As Variety reports, the film is directed by Amy Berg (Deliver Us from Evil, The Case Against Adnan Syed), and will arrive on HBO in two parts later this year. Wood dated Manson from about 2006 to 2010. Afterwards, without mentioning names, she became a vocal advocate for victims of domestic violence, using her own story to help push through California’s Phoenix Act in 2019. Pig director and writer Michael Sarnoski is going from the touching, delicate drama of his breakout film to the sci-fi horror of the A Quiet Place franchise. As first reported by Deadline, Sarnoski is in negotiations to take over the film, which is being described as more of a spinoff than a sequel.
