But just before half time the Old Lady were back level, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring his own penalty after a handball inside the area. Immediately after that though, Roma got themselves back in front after a stunning counter-attack that was finished by Veretout. Andrea Pirlo’s side then went down to 10 men as Adrien Rabiot was sent off for a late challenge which saw him earn a second yellow card. Inter Milan hits two late goals to beat Fiorentina 4-3

Inter Milan fought back with two goals in the last five minutes as they began their Serie A campaign with a 4-3 win over Fiorentina on Saturday. Runners-up last season and seen as the main challengers to the dominance of Juventus this term, Inter suffered one of their familiar slumps as they fell 3-2 behind to a Fiorentina side inspired by 37-year-old Franck Ribery. But an 87th-minute equaliser from Romelu Lukaku followed by Danilo D’Ambrosio’s header two minutes later gave them the points – and possibly spared them one of coach Antonio Conte’s infamous dressing-downs after the game. Inter could not have made a worse start as they gifted Fiorentina the lead in the third minute with a goal worthy of a playground kickabout. Cristiano Biraghi floated the ball into the area, the Inter defence ...

The Premier League side are yet to find an agreement with the German club for the England international but latest reports claim that the Red Devils believe a deal can be done before the transfer window closes next month. Sancho managed to score 20 goals last season and he picked up 20 assists as well. There is no doubt that he is a world-class winger and he would improve Manchester United immensely. If he moves to Old Trafford, he is likely to start in place of Daniel James and it would be a massive upgrade for Solskjaer’s side. Ian Wright accuses Manchester United of ‘dithering’ over transfers

Ian Wright has urged Manchester United to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano. The 21-year-old impressed with his performances in the Champions League last season, most notably against Atletico Madrid. Upamecano recently revealed he held talks about a potential move away from RB Leipzig and his focus, for now, is the Bundesliga club (via Manchester Evening News). We all know that would quickly change if United came knocking with an offer in the morning, and former Arsenal star Wright thinks we should make move. When you look at the defence — despite Solskjaer claiming to be happy with it — it shouldn’t be hard to look into the transfer market to find better options. Victor Lindelof is an awful partner to Harry Maguire, but hopefully we see more combinations in the foreseeable future —...

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says he’s impressed with the effort of Kelechi Iheanacho and other players who featured against Arsenal on Wednesday.
