HHW Gaming: E3 2022 Officially Put On Ice, Gamers React To The Sad News

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Christian Petersen / Getty No one should be surprised by this news, but E3 is dead, well, the 2022 edition of the convention that focuses strictly on video games. Thursday (Mar.31), the ESA, the company behind the Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3, has officially canceled its virtual convention after axing the prospect of a return to an in-person event back in January. Sadly, there will be no E3 this year, but don’t fear gamers. The ESA does have plans of trying to revitalize E3 in 2023, but it’s still currently on life support, hanging on for dear life. “We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer,” the ESA said in a statement shared by IGN. “Whether enjoyed from the show...

HHW Gaming: The Extremely Hard To Get Xbox Series X Is Readily Available… For Now

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @BeanzGotGamez Is this a sign that the world is beginning to heal? The once elusive Xbox Series X is now readily available. No, we’re not kidding. Since its launch, the Xbox Series X has been extremely hard to get, immediately selling out when stock hits websites like Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon. That was until Friday (Apr.1). If you head over to Amazon or Walmart, you will be surprised to see the console is still IN STOCK, and yes, at its retail price of $499 (Amazon) and $646.25 (Walmart).  Related Stories We have hit the refresh button many times to see if the “in stock” changes to “out of stock,” and much to our surprise, it has not yet changed. This is a huge development, being that the system has been very difficult ...

Xbox Game Pass Is Reportedly Adding a Family Plan

Just two days after Sony announced its Game Pass equivalent for the PlayStation, Microsoft is now looking to hit back with a new offering for the Xbox subscription plan. According to new reports, the gaming giant is now looking to launch a family plan for Xbox Game Pass that’ll allow up to five different players to access the same account. The move marks a big departure from its current format, which only allows one user per account. Although you’re able to add a second Xbox console to the subscription plan, the primary account holder still needs to be signed in for the second player to access those games. A family plan would make things much more convenient for those who might not necessarily be online at the same time. So far, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed anything, and in a response to&nbs...

There will be no more E3 2022 as the gaming expo has officially been canceled both physically and digitally. “We previously announced that E3 would not be held in person in 2022 due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19. Today, we announce that there will also be no digital E3 showcase in 2022,” the ESA stated. “Instead, we will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer.” This marks the second time in a span of three years that organizers have been forced to call off the event. The rise of the global pandemic in 2020 caused the event to be totally shut down and was instead held virtually in 2021. As of now, the plan to host the event in 2023 is still on track to happen, this time in Los Angeles, CA in a brand n...

Kenji is a semi-pro esports player competing in the Vanguard tournament Checkmate Gaming and in a recent 2v2 match, his opponents accused him of cheating via wallhack, an illegal add-on that allows players to see through walls to make identifying enemies and predicting their movement much easier. Contesting the claims, Kenji decided to record a video of himself playing with an off-screen camera, but interestingly enough, he didn’t turn off his wallhack. What ensued is a clear video showing large boxes on his monitor during a match indicating enemy locations behind walls.
