‘Call of Duty: Mobile’ to Host 2022 World Championship With $2 Million USD Prize Pool

Call of Duty: Mobile is back again with its World Championship for 2022, and this time round Activision has allocated a grand prize pool of $2 million USD. The tournament will commence on March 31 and all eligible players of the game will be able to compete for a whole variety of rewards, including epic weapons and operators. Stage One and Two of the championship will be open to all entrants across the globe, and those who sign up will automatically receive a brand new frame and calling card. Spanning four weeks, the first stage will feature one in-game online qualifier every weekend through 10 ranked multiplayer matches. PlayStation users will receive an extended look into the forthcoming RPG Hogwarts Legacy later this week. Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Riot Games has invested in its collaborator, Paris-based 3D animation studio Fortiche Production. Under the supervision of Riot Games, the French studio produced 2021’s critically acclaimed League of Legends spin-off series, Arcane. The show’s viewership, which counts both LoL fans and those who have never played the game, even set the record as Netflix‘s highest-rated series within a week of premiering on the streamer. Now, Riot Games has made an equity investment in Fortiche, giving it a “significant” but non-controlling stake in the studio. A speedrunner has managed to complete Elden Ring in just under 29 minutes. The new world record comes from prolific Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2, who managed to finish the massively popular game in just 28 minutes and 59 seconds, managing what he believes to be the world’s first sub-30 minute completion of Elden Ring. The run itself is an “Any%” run, which means Distortion2 aims to get from the beginning of the game to the end credits as quickly as possible without completing every single quest and task in the game, but what’s impressive is that his time has constantly been improving. News regarding the upcoming Dead Space remake game has arrived. Following a tip-off from journalist and insider Tom Henderson last February, Activision has confirmed that it is going forward with building Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile and is currently hiring development and publishing teams. “We are creating an all-new, AAA mobile experience that will bring the thrilling, fluid and large-scale action of Call of Duty®: Warzone™ to players on the go,” Activision announced. Warzone Mobile will be the second free-to-play Call of Duty title for mobile following the current Call of Duty: Mobile offering first introduced in 2019.
