Nintendo Closes California and Canada Offices, Displacing 100 Employees

Nintendo will be closing both its Redwood City, California and Toronto, Canada offices, with the company’s SVP of Sales and Marketing Nick Chavez also stepping down. An official statement from Nintendo reads: “Nintendo of America headquarters are in Redmond, WA, and Vancouver, BC. We are moving more of our employees and operations into those headquarters and will be closing small satellite offices in Toronto, ON, and Redwood City, CA, over time. ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ Brings Back Classic ‘World at War’ Map

Long-time Call of Duty fans will be delighted to learn that Activision has brought back one of the classics from World at War for the upcoming Vanguard release. Announcing the maps list for the new title, the developer revealed that Dome will be making a return to the franchise, but this time with a battle-damaged look. A description of the map reads: “After heavy damage to the Reichstag Building in Berlin, Allied forces storm the bombed-out structure while Axis stand their grounds.” As usual, you can expect heavy, close-quarter combat in this classic asymmetrical area. SteelSeries Updates Its Arctis 7 Series Wireless Headsets With 30-Hour Battery Life

SteelSeries has now given its popular Arctis 7 series gaming headsets a welcome update. Joining the series will be the Arctis 7+ Wireless and the Arctis 7P+ Wireless. The former is a multiplatform headset compatible with PC, PlayStation, Mac, Android, the Switch and Oculus Quest 2, while the latter also includes extra support for next-gen 3D Audio for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Both have now been upgraded to carry a USB-C charging and connection port that can allow much quicker charging than their predecessors, offering three hours of game time in just 15 minutes of charging. Sony’s Operating Income Declines Despite Selling 13.4 Million PlayStation 5 Units

A little over a week ago, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella suggested that Sony’s PlayStation 5 had overtaken the Nintendo Switch as the highest-selling console of the month, and now Sony itself has confirmed just exactly how many units the gaming giant has delivered since its launch. According to reports, the Japanese company has sold more than 13.4 million PlayStation 5s since it first came out almost a year ago. 2.2 million of them were sold last quarter and the number has now increased to 3.3 million over the past three months. Game sales also increased from 63.6 million last quarter to 76.4 million. ‘Forza Horizon 5’ to Feature Almost 500 Cars on Launch

Following on from yesterday’s news that Gran Turismo 7 will feature over 400 cars, Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 video game will feature almost 500 cars upon launch. 491 cars will be available from launch, and more cars are set to be unveiled closer to the game’s official release on November 9. As per the Forza recipe, there will also be a number of expansion packs that will introduce more driveable and customizable cars to the garage.
