Contrary to Microsoft’s loss-making strategy for Xbox harware, Sony has just revealed that its $499 USD PlayStation 5 is finally turning a profit. In comparison, it took the PS4 around six months to stop selling the console at a loss in 2013, whereas the PS3 sits at the top of the list having taken several years of sales in order to make a profit. While the PS5 is nowhere close to the PS3 in terms of its profit/loss ratio, the inflow has been slow due to the use of expensive parts and squeezed supply. The next installment in Activision Blizzard’s Diablo series has been postponed until sometime during the first half of 2022 so that developers can have more time to tinker with the game. First announced at BlizzCon in 2018, the free-to-play RPG Diablo Immortal was slated for release later this year, but a recent blog post on Activision’s website said that developers would be working on fine tuning certain features of the game after receiving feedback from its closed test participants. Activison explained that in its updates, developers would be “iterating on PvP [Player vs. Player] content like the Cycle of Strife to make it more accessible” as well as “late-game PvE [Player vs. Environment] content like the Helliquary to make it more engaging.” These improvements will optimize challenges ...

Burberry’s long-awaited non-fungible token (NFT) collection alongside Mythical Games’ Blankos Block Party is finally set to release on August 11. Initially unveiled earlier this year, the release — which marks the first digital item to be released as a part of Burberry’s B Series — features a selection of limited drops that combine moments of inspiration and discovery, as well as the brand empowering gamers to own an NFT from the new collection and actively engaging with the brand’s house codes. Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence reveals Seer, a new stylish intel-seeking legend, as well as a range of new weapon updates, legend metas, game modes, and map updates. “With microdrones and an artist’s eye, Seer spots opportunities that other Legends might miss and seizes them in the most beautiful way he can,” reads the official description. The new legend has a “Heart Seeker” passive which can hear heartbeats of nearby threats when aiming down sights, a tactical ability that summons microdrones that temporarily interrupts enemy actions and reveals their health, and an ultimate which creates a sphere of microdrones that reveals the footsteps of moving enemies and firing weapons. Capcom has officially introduced a new kickboxing character named Luke to the Street Fighter V universe. While only very limited information is shared regarding Luke, Street Fighter V‘s director Takayuki Nakayama confirms that the character will provide a “glimpse into the future” for the franchise. Xbox on Tuesday unveiled its new wireless controller in Aqua Shift, a shimmering light blue hue with color swirl grips. The device features a color-shifting blue shimmer, a hybrid D-pad and textured grip on the trigger, bumpers and back case. A dedicated share button allows users to easily capture and share screenshots, while the controller can be easily paired and switched between devices including Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Android, and iOS using bluetooth. The special edition controller offers up to 40 hours of battery life and can be used alongside the Xbox Accessories app to remap other buttons.
