With less than two months before its release, Nintendo has now uploaded a new trailer for the upcoming Switch 2D platform shooter Metroid Dread detailing some of its story elements. Featured above, the almost two-minute clip explains that seven multiform mobile identifier robots were dispatched to a planet in order to curtail the revival of a parasitic lifeform called X Parasite. However, upon arrival, all seven droids disappeared, and now Samus has taken on the mission to investigate exactly what happened to the robots and to stop the parasitic invasion. Functioning as a handheld PC, the Steam Deck runs on a customized AMD chip coupled with built-in storage ranging from 64GB to 512GB. The Call of Duty League will be giving away a select number of beta codes for Call of Duty: Vanguard in a sweepstake during the 2021 League Championship Weekend final next weekend. Although the beta’s official launch date has not yet been announced, fans watching the game will have a chance to secure one of 25,000 early-access codes to Vanguard. Someone has just managed to successfully copyright his own Magic: The Gathering deck of cards. According to reports, an assistant professor of materials science and engineering at the University of Michigan and known legal provocateur by the name of Dr. Robert Hovden copyrighted his own personal deck of cards. The story broke from journalist Cory Doctorow, who revealed that Hovden’s filing at the United States Copyright Office was successful, but raised a number of concerns for other players within the Magic: The Gathering world. “Hovden’s public communications around this tease that he may prohibit others from using this deck in tournament play, and says it’s all about ‘owning culture and people’s participation in culture through copyright,’” wrote Doctorow. A decade after its initial launch, the now ultra-iconic video game Skyrim is receiving a next-gen upgrade for those lucky enough to get their hands on the new consoles. Announced via a blog post from Bethesda in celebration of the legendary game’s 10-year anniversary, the studio revealed that an enhanced version of the RPG will be coming soon to next-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While it has divulged any details regarding exactly what will be enhanced, we can probably expect higher resolutions, better graphics and elevated frame rates. Bethesda has now remastered the cult classic Quake from 1996 in full 4K. Greatly enhancing visuals for the dark fantasy first-person shooter, the publisher not only increased its resolutions but also incorporated widescreen support, more detailed models, dynamic and color lighting, anti-aliasing and a more realistic depth of field while retaining the game’s original atmospheric soundtrack and theme song written by Trent Reznor.
