Since its launch nearly two years ago, PlayStation 5 players have been requesting support for 1440p, or QHD (quad high definition). Although the console has always supported 1080p, 1440p video output is in-demand by those who use monitors to game rather than TVs. PlayStation’s Senior Vice President of Platform Experience announced today that the PS5 is rolling out a software beta that includes 1440p support, along with a few new features. Another big Pokémon TCG heist has just been reported. Taking place in South Carolina, trading card investor Christopher Polydorou had three unopened First Edition Pokémon TCG boxes stolen from his temperature-controlled room. The 62-year-old insurance broker claims he purchased the cards more than 20 years ago, one of which was a Japanese version of the collectible cards from 1999. Polydorou estimates that the cards stolen were worth roughly $500,000 USD. The police report indicates that “an unknown person entered his collection room” and removed the cards. Polydorou also commented that the only people in his private card room were “men from an HVAC company” that his 91-year-old mother hired. Grand Theft Auto VI will reportedly be the first game to feature a playable female character, according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the game. The character will reportedly be a Latina woman and “influenced by the bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.” Rockstar Games was allegedly supposed to put out a game entitled Cops ‘n’ Crooks, where players would divide into teams of good and bad guys. After consolidating Facebook‘s Oculus under its new Meta umbrella, the company is now increasing prices for its flagship Quest 2 VR headset. The news was revealed over on Twitter and says that prices for its offerings will be going up by a full $100 USD as of August. This means the usual 128GB set will now go for $400 USD, while the 256GB version will sell at $500 USD. After unveiling the PlayStation VR2 headset back in June, Sony PlayStation has now offered fans a better look at some of its features. In a new blog post offering a closer look at some of the PS VR2’s features, Sony revealed that the upcoming headset will allow players to broadcast and livestream through the PlayStation 5‘s camera, meaning you’ll be able to show your Twitch viewers your physical actions and reactions on top of the in-game footage without having to set up another streaming PC.
