Dee Snider has shared “Stand (for Ukraine),” a re-worked music video for his 2021 Leave a Scar track “Stand.” The Twisted Sister singer also launched the World United Live support campaign to aid the country. Snider recently made headlines when he voiced staunch support for the Ukrainian’s use of Twisted Sister’s anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as a rallying cry against the invading Russian forces. ALS Patient with Complete Paralysis Asks to Hear Tool Album via Brain Implant
An ALS patient with complete paralysis became the first known person in his condition to use a brain implant to communicate, and one of the first things he asked for was to hear a Tool album. Scientists were able to communicate with the late-stage ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) patient using a brain implant that allows him to select letters and form sentences. “The neurological disease destroys the nerves that control movement,” per Science.org, “and most patients die within five years of diagnosis. When a person with ALS can no longer speak, they can use an eye-tracking camera to select letters on a screen.” The patient in question, who is now 36, began working with a research team at the University of Tübingen in 2018. Carcass Announce 2022 US Tour
Carcass will embark on a US tour this May, and the lineup is stacked. The British death metal pioneers are bringing along Immolation and Creeping Death as support. The outing kicks off with a headlining appearance by Carcass at the Oblivion Access festival in Austin, Texas, on May 12th. The band will then link up with Immolation and Creeping Death on May 14th in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The tour culminates with an appearance at Maryland Deathfest on May 27th. John Clayton, the longtime NFL reporter for ESPN, has died at age 67 after an undisclosed brief illness. While he was considered one of the best in the business among football fans, for many he will be remembered for his unforgettable starring in role in perhaps the greatest “This Is SportsCenter” commercial ever. After starting as a sportswriter in the covering the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks in the ’70s and ’80s, Clayton was hired by ESPN in 1995, where he remained with the network as one of its top NFL reporters until he was let go in 2017. Greta Van Fleet have been forced to postpone a few shows on their current North American tour, as guitarist Jake Kiszka has been hospitalized with pneumonia. Jake’s twin brother, Josh (lead vocals), also fell ill, but has mostly recovered. Originally, the band was scheduled to kick off the 2022 outing with five shows in their home state of Michigan. They got through three of the gigs, including the tour opener in Kalamazoo, before illness derailed the itinerary.
