A$AP Ferg Hit The Aspen Slopes With Snowboarding Flex [VIDEO]

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: DEAN BLOTTO GRAY / Courtesy of Burton There are some out there who still front on snowboarding like it’s not a sport to take seriously, or that Black people won’t get into it. That viewpoint ignores the fact that snowboarding and Hip-hop have been a winning combination before, with Naughty By Nature’s “Feel Me Flow” video from 1995 as a major example as MTV showcased the sport before ESPN picked up the baton with their X-Games. Hip-Hop’s impact on the sport can be seen in figures such as Shaun White, who holds the most Olympic gold medals for the sport and Chloe Kim, the youngest woman to ever win an Olympic gold medal. More importantly, there have been notable Black figures holding it down as snowboarders from back then such as Russel Winfield, Keir Dill...

The Best 10 Hip-Hop Soundtracks That Made History & Stars

HipHopWired Featured Video If you truly thought about your favorite songs of all time, a good chunk either were made for a hip-hop soundtrack or were introduced to you by one. Alicia Keys came wailing into our hearts in 2001 with “Fallin’,” but it was 1997’s Men In Black soundtrack where a teenage Keys predates that classic. The only time we ever got rap’s funniest MC’s Eminem and Redman on a song together was “Off The Wall” from the Nutty Professor II soundtrack. Outside of DJ albums, hip-hop soundtracks are like hip-hop All-Star Games, the best the game has to offer teaming up on dream songs. Partly for those reasons listed above, the best hip-hop soundtracks come from those with the biggest visions. Diddy has said he used the 2003 Bad Boys II soundtrack to launch a new era of the l...

Proudly representing the borough of Queens, New York, Phife Dawg had a few nicknames that spoke to his flawless capability as an MC, but the “Five Foot Assassin” tag was a calling card and a promise whenever he stepped up to the microphone. Starting out with Q-Tip (Jonathan Davis), Jarobi White and Ali Shaheed Muhammad to form A Tribe Called Quest in high school back in 1985, he helped usher in a new era in Hip-Hop and was one of the arc...
