Jaden Smith is no longer the Karate Kid. He’s all grown up and the election is on his mind. Jaden dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night for a performance of “Boys and Girls,” set to a backdrop of Black Lives Matter protests and climate change action. Wearing a jacket emblazoned with a rainbow-colored “Vote,” the singer and actor finished his performance with a raised fist. “This is the most important election of our lifetime. Don’t forget to vote.” You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giving you back power. Young Thug, Travis Scott, and M.I.A. on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Travis Scott was both the lead guest and musical performer on the Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. When he wasn’t pimping burgers for McDonald’s, Scott reminded everyone that there’s an artist lurking beneath the brands with a performance of “Franchise”. Scott’s interview covered his new promotional deal with the Golden Arches, which is basically just a quarter pounder meal with limited options. The so-called “Travis Scott Meal” became a TikTok sensation, and so popular that some stores began to run out of quarter-pound patties. The Houston rapper then shifted into high gear for his delivery of “Franchise”, assisted remotely by collaborators M.I.A. and Young Thug. The high-production performance played out more l...
After months of socially distant performances from their homes, Haim brought some live music to The Forum in Los Angeles — or close to it. Performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (Sept. 29), Haim took fans to the parking lot of the LA venue. Set up in a line, Danielle swapped her guitar for a place at the drumkit and led the band in a live rendition of “Gasoline.” Accompanied by a piano player, the Haim sisters brought us a performance that we’ve been waiting for from the band. On the heels of their latest album’s release, they did get together to perform “Gasoline” altogether. They also got together to celebrate dropping Women in Music Pt. III with a livestream from a deli — the band’s initial live tour plan prior to the pandemic. The group also filmed their video for “Don’t Wanna” at ...
As our understanding of how to handle the pandemic gets better, so too do musical guests’ late night TV spots. On Tuesday night, HAIM made a virtual pitstop at Jimmy Kimmel Live!, but instead of Zooming in from home, they filmed their performance of “Gasoline” from an actual music venue. Well, from outside of an actual music venue. The trio of Este Haim, Danielle Haim, and Alana Haim (along with a pianist) set up in the empty parking lot of Los Angeles’ The Forum. Sure, it wasn’t like they filmed in a hot air balloon, but it was nice to see them out in the world for the rendition of the Women in Music Pt. III track. As the single-shot camera work panned around the sisters and the sun set behind them, HAIM put the matured sound of their latest album on full display in what was a surprisingl...
Aminé soared over Los Angeles in a hot air balloon for his Thursday performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The balloon itself was a statement, festooned in Black Lives Matter messaging, flags of countries, and religious symbols from around the world. While attempting to honor the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Sandra Bland, Aminé made a broader statement about the interconnectedness of humanity. The rapper launched into the two opening tracks of his new album Limbo, but in reverse order. First, he essayed his latest single “Woodlawn”. Lines like “Came a long way from that Woodlawn Park,” hit differently at 2,200 feet. After landing, Aminé stepped inside the balloon itself, transforming a mode of transportation into a dramatic venue. He played “Burd...
Tenacious D teleported down from their space station on Tuesday night to join Jimmy Kimmel for a late night chat and rock session. The duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass Zoomed in to promote everything Post-Apocalypto, from their latest album to their newly released graphic novel (which apparently features 96 hand-drawn penises). Despite causing a ruckus in their own homes (with Black flailing around a Pickle Rick pillow), the D assured Kimmel they were responsible rockers respecting quarantine. “There’s only like three bands that don’t quarantine now,” joked Black, “You’ve got Kanye, you’ve got Smash Mouth, and Kid Rock. But other than that, everyone’s on the same page.” Black, who was wearing Black Sabbath’s Black Lives Matter shirt, went on to explain how the band’s 2018 album, Post-Apocal...

School’s out and summer break has officially begun for Jimmy Kimmel. The late-night host announced on Thursday that he will be taking a hiatus from his show during the summer months in order to spend time with loved ones. “I’m taking the summer off to spend even more time with my family,” Kimmel revealed last night. “I’ve been doing this job for almost 18 years. I’ve done 3,130 shows and there’s nothing wrong,” added the 52-year-old TV personality, “my family is healthy, I’m healthy. I just need a couple of months off.” Watch his full announcement video below. Thursday evening’s broadcast served as Kimmel’s last one for the time being. Re-runs will air for the next two weeks before “a cavalcade of very kind and capable” special guests come in to take over hosting duties. Since Jimmy K...
Lars Ulrich is a man of many talents: drummer, former tennis ace, painter, metal legend. On Wednesday (June 10), the Metallica co-founder put it all aside for a few minutes to pay tribute to another type of hero when he Zoomed in to Jimmy Kimmel Live. The double-kick wizard was the latest celebrity to play a round of #HealthCareHero, this time surprising Tracey Bednar, a pediatric ICU nurse and Metallica superfan from Long Island. Bednar works with children battling COVID-19. Each day she drives 45 minutes to work, clocks in at 7 am and “hits the ground running.” A proper rock star. She loves golf, yoga and playing music loud in the car. Especially Metallica. And in particular, “Enter Sandman.” Enter Ulrich. After the shock and awe of the moment, the Danish-born rocker thanked Bednar for h...
Long before the outbreak, Gorillaz launched Song Machine, an ongoing audiovisual series featuring new music. The animated band led by Damon Albarn has since forged ahead by releasing singles each month, and on Tuesday, Gorillaz showcased one of them on Jimmy Kimmel Live. For the remotely broadcast TV performance, Albarn teamed up with 2-D to play Gorillaz’s latest single, “Aries”. As Kimmel noted in his introduction, it marked the first time Albarn has ever-performed a duet with one his animated bandmates. Watch below. The studio version of “Aries” features New Order’s Peter Hook and Georgia, and marks the third chapter in Gorillaz’s Song Machine series. Previously, they released “Momentary Bliss” featuring slowthai and Slaves, and Désolé” featuring Fatoumata Diawara. ...
