HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Kanye West’s 10th album, Donda, has yet another new release date. Don’t say we didn’t tell you that Yeezy’s pump faking is nothing new. It was way back on Thursday, July 22 that Kanye West held a listening session at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the new album. The reviews were generally positive—hey, a last-minute Jay-Z verse—but at the strike of midnight on Friday, July 23, there was no album to be found on streamers. Then it turned out that Kanye West was shacking up in MB Stadium and was holding yet another listening session Thursday, August 5. Once again, the reviews were generally positive and it seemed like an even lengthier project—this time The LOX got a last-minute look. But besides the most devout of Yeezy Stans, most ...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Prince Williams / Getty While this might be one of the most anticipated albums of the year it is clear Donda is quite ready yet. DJ Toomp wasn’t totally impressed by what he heard from Kanye and gives his reasons why. As spotted on HipHopDX the famed producer sat in on an interview with B High ATL. While they discussed several topics during their sit down he was asked about his experience recently at Yeezy’s album listening event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He admitted he was floored by vibes during the live event but walked away feeling underwhelmed by the material. “I would really love to help him put that album together,” he admitted. “I want to hear some more lyrics, man. Definitely beats. But as far as the artist, I want to hear lyrics. W...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: @kanyewest / Instagram Kanye West isn’t doing anything the easy way nowadays. After once again pump-faking on the release of his Donda album (with no repercussions?), Yeezy has decided to hunker down in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to finish the project, and recently showed off his living situation. First, let us reiterate that Kanye West is in Atlanta, home to plenty of top-notch studios like Tree Sound or Patchwerk to name just a couple, that would surely be willing to accommodate his recording needs. However, the multi-hyphenate Rap star has chosen to complete the Donda album in the same place he held its fame listening session. while sleeping in what looks like a bare-bones dorm room in a college with a modest budget. West took to Instagram to...
Gesaffelstein and Kanye West have officially reunited. The French electronic music virtuoso announced that he’s behind the production of a new single from West’s upcoming 10th studio album, Donda. The track is called “No Child Left Behind” and it’s due out this Friday, July 23rd along with the rest of the LP, according to announcement by Beats Electronics. Gesaffelstein confirmed the collab after it was featured in a Beats commercial aired during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The ad features America’s fastest woman, Olympic track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and was directed and edited by West. The hype surrounding Donda was briefly overshadowed by a legendary, championship-sealing performance by Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it’s now b...
Over a year after announcing that it was in the works, Kanye West will (finally) be releasing Donda this Friday, July 23. [embedded content] West’s last proper album was 2019’s Jesus Is King. He also released Jesus Is Born and Emmanuel on back-to-back Christmases that featured the Sunday Service Choir.
