Neil Young Releasing Shelved 2001 Album Toast, Shares “Standing in the Light of Love”: Stream

No, you still can’t stream Neil Young on Spotify, but you will have the chance to hear his long-shelved Crazy Horse album Toast this summer. The 2001 record will be released in full on July 8th via Reprise, and today, Young is previewing it with the song “Standing in the Light of Love.” Young and Crazy Horse recorded the aptly-named Toast at Toast Studios in San Francisco. In a statement, the musician writes that the album ended up being “so sad that [he] couldn’t put it out.” He explains: “I just skipped it and went on to do another album in its place. Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced their first new music since 2013’s Mosquito. The indie rock trio’s new single, “Spitting Off the Edge of the World,” featuring Perfume Genius, arrives Wednesday, June 1, via Secretly Canadian. The band will preview the song and video at Brooklyn’s Main Drag Music, where it will play inside the store all weekend. Isaiah Rashad sat down for an interview with Joe Budden that got released on the rapper and media personality’s Patreon yesterday (May 26). According to reports, the Dallas, Texas rapper was apprehended on Thursday (May 26th) by officers from the Collins County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest occurred a day after a judge issued the warrant for him, citing a status of “bond held insufficient” – which means that the judge felt Beezy’s previous bail amount wasn’t enough.
