According to a study from the BBC, only 13% of UK festival headliners in 2022 are female. In 2017, two major projects were launched by ReBalance and KeyChange with hopes to find more gender-inclusive festival line-ups in the future. However, five years on, 80% of this year’s festival headline slots are all-male. Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, and Billie Eilish are headlining Glastonbury this year, while the Reading and Leeds headliners are Dave, Arctic Monkeys, and Rage Against the Machine. If you head to Latitude festival, you’ll see Lewis Capaldi, Foals, and Snow Patrol heading the bill. With the vast majority of major UK festivals being headlined by men this year, some progress has been made with SZA, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj being the Wireless festiv...
Bright Eyes’ show at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston on Sunday came to an abrupt conclusion after frontman Conor Oberst left the stage after playing two songs. The remaining band members then enlisted concertgoers to come on-stage to perform karaoke. According to an initial report by BrooklynVegan, the incident unfolded during the second song of the set, “Lover I Don’t Have to Love,” when the singer began to experience lyrical lapses and subsequently exited. Jezebel writer Caitlin Cruz was in attendance and live-tweeted the proceedings as the band scrambled to select volunteers and “tall boy-drinking men” from the audience to sing a few more songs before ending the show completely. During a break as the band prepared to launch into “Bowl of Oranges,” one of the impromptu singers could ...

If a soundtrack has both Elvis Presley’s and Baz Luhrmann’s names attached to it, chances are it’s gonna be good. Case in point: the OST to Luhrmann’s forthcoming biopic promises “original songs and recordings” by Stevie Nicks, Tame Impala, and Jack White, just to name a few. Elvis will also feature contributions from Eminem, Denzel Curry, Diplo, Jazmine Sullivan, Gary Clark Jr., Måneskin. Kacey Musgraves previously revealed she would be covering “Can’t Help Falling In Love” for the soundtrack, while Doja Cat’s “Hound Dog”-sampling “Vegas” serves as the project’s first single. Of course, much of the soundtrack will come from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself, as well as the man playing him, Austin Butler (who we’ve already heard do his best impression in the trailer). We’ll also hear ...

Drake’s longtime friend and associate Chubbs took to Instagram to deny Pusha T’s claim that Drake banned him from Canada. Chubbs shared a black and white photo of the crew with a caption claiming that they “Welcome Them With Open Arms” and they “ Don’t Ban N*****z.” Drake also commented on the post, further extending the warm welcome, “come on over,” with a laughing face emoji. The Instagram post follows Push’s latest Drink Champs episode, during which he spoke about the beef he had with Drake. Early in the interview, Pusha T claimed that he was legitimately banned from Canada after receiving word from his manager and clarified that he didn’t perform his Drake diss track in the country — a song wherein N.O.R.E implied that Push went too far. Despite all of the tensions, Pusha T said that h...
